If you ask me, I think the present military government may fail in time to come. Why? They keep changing their policies and strategies. For examples: the overnight reversal of investment policies last month, the contradicting opinions between the government and the PM on buying back Shin Corp, violation of patents by making their own medicines, which will scare away all those pharmaceutical companies. No doubt these pharmaceutical companies are making tons of monies, but there should be a better approach to negotiate with them, instead of the government's downright attitude of overriding their patents' rights altogether. Let's hope that their crazy Tom-Yum epidemic will not reach our shores. |

Two school of though happening in Thai politic and there r out of wit. 1) army chief, gen sonthi 2) Thai PM Surayud (ex-Gen) making a messed by two major politic parties (ThaiRakThai & Democrat for their very own selffish agenda). so far so good that Thai PM is doing damaged control for Thai ppl's, still fault line is brewing into ITV license. It is going tobe a long haul for them even after their election is over, prospective wise (negative for sometime to come for Thai ppl's to live with) Jusy my tot |

Thaksin will be back into different mkt, may not be into politic god father style, likely he wishes to be a senior State leader role like our MM and SM, try to copy.. our style but with modification for Thai. |

On the fun side, England may still recall Beck's for his great soccer skill, his is specialist in free kick, kicking ball into the net curving sideway. Our boy just did that on Thai soil, see how he cheong.. pass two defenders and kick hard, solidly curving the ball into the top side of the goal post (Beck's style) while goalley stood there stun. so Thai oso may recall if needed. |

Thai or no Thai problem!@#$%^&*()_+ The Straits Times (Sat) February 24, 2007. S'PORE is ready to become a top First World Nation: MM S'porean must welcome foreigner here as they R the extra megabytes (more employer with $$$) and S'porean the harddisk (more to store it work) good plc to bring up children, attractive magnet for investment from most advance countries and continue to built frens with wider regionally and beyond.. This is the future and is our future too. and this is the way to go.. |

teeth53Elite Unfortunately, our neighbourhood's politicians have either short memories or an ungrateful lot. Look at the neighbour in the south. During the tsunami, we were the first to rush aids to help and also keep championing its economy recovery through the Riau Islands, etc. Yet they did not care two hoots when stopping the sales of sand or even restricting our airspace. Malaysia's antagonism under the former PM was well documented. The present PM is more pleasant and friendly because he has previous support from us. We better hope he stays longer in power. For Thailand, we thought we found a friend in Thaksin, then the Shincorp and ouster bombshell. The present junta is far from friendly as we all know. So despite MM's optimism, the regional politics look pretty dicey. Many maybe unaware, but the fact is many Singaporeans have left the red dot in recent years for safer haven. True blue Singaporeans left around probably makes up less than 50%. |

Hi lausk2, It is good to serve to remind those.. a gentle reminder, hope don get carry away too much, be prepare if history want to happen. This time round after having lesson, i think those in power is powerless to handle such crises if it ever to come (just can't fight against BBs, very BBs funded instituties) and i think the one and oni one son Thai had is to return to backup his oni country that he is known (on track records) to bring back it confident level(election or after election in Thai). Hope Temasek don pull out unless our MM said so. |

Hi Billywows, Hope it won't happen, but the way it is moving forward, Those in power is telling and painting a totally different story and telling it ppl's it is tatshin problem, so far the Thai for Thai is all about bomb, more bomb and ppl's talking about bomb and ordinary ppl's everyday worry over their meal, not mistaken Indo....is oso try to follow up Thai style. I am imagining what can happen during 1997 financial crises w/o fren to help it country to recover. This time frens around is much lesser. Just look at Japan (Super rich club). Regaining status as financial hub (see pg S22-Inside-Money). Even Japan oso pins its hopes as global financial centre on foreign financial firms and it funds. |
