Hear, hear. A well-written analysis by Savvysamyeo. Short sellers shd be as analytical as the writer before striking fear by wantonly selling down SC to create the suggestion that legal irregularites are involved in Stanley buying into SC.. Are they "brainier" than those in the GIL/SC venture? There is no suggestion that any legal irregularities are involved in Stanley Ho's participation in SC, according to Thursday's ST report. It's in fact a symbiotic relationship for SC to improve its profitability as from 2007. |

The way world class casinoes are operated are not an open book for most people to understand. When the Genting group made the landmark decision to invest billions in the Sentosa IR is a must succeed venture taking into account the local governments aversion for extreme wayward activities. That Dr Stanley Ho decision to participate is not without due consideration to S'pore's sensitivities. Needless to say both investors and the Sing. Gov. want the IRs to succeed well since it has been decided despite much controversy. There is no suggestion that any legal irregularities are involved, however the way news have been purveyed needs to be carefully crafted as this is a momentous venture for S'pore and indeed the the economic impact will be considerable. Therefore at this stage when participation by Macau will more than likely boost the likelihood of quicker success for the Sentosa IR one must be careful not to unwittingly cause disrepute for this great S'pore venture. As it is, the fragile sensitivities concerning this mega project have in the past week decimated the investments of many investors be they short or longterm. I think we should not be shooting our good feet while we are embarking on a venture like this unnecessarily. I wish to clarify that we are not vested in Genting Int. presently although if successful it will probably be a core holding in many funds' portfolio. |

Stanley Ho's involvement in the IR is controversial and is a very sensitive issue. |
