Hi sohguanh Different broker firms charge differently and some even pay u the interets when u short. Local firms of coz do not offer this benefit, I know one house charges 8% P.A. In stock markets, nothing is fair :) some win, some lose :) U have to make decision yourself whether to take this kind of risk or take it as a leverage advantages to short when stocks in downtrend. Coz I believe making $$$ should be in both direction, whether UP or down. |

How is the financial charges calculated? Heard from a forumers even on weekends the charges still applies which is very unfair as SGX is not opened for trading on weekends and holidays!!! |

For normal trading account of coz cannot, but I am using Contract for difference(CFD) with 30 days short and long period than normal account. Of coz again financial charge applied. And for me CFD meant for short term trading as financial charges kill :) |
