Yes, making money from stock market is not easy. We not only need to learn from mistakes, read, analyse etc but we also need something that is important in life survival. That is perseverence....... |

For example, in the past few weeks, when the overall market and most stocks were battered down, Jiutian was one star performer that charged up and up and up!!! ... |

Who said that making money from the Stock Market is easy????? It is hardworks as far as I'm concerned. Maybe 2006 is easier than other years 'cos the Bull is running well! On the same note, Ipunter, may I know when did you hear of such quote? In 2006? BTW, 'one swallow does not make a summer' could also mean that ' 1 (or 2) good company doesn't mean that the whole Stock Market is good' Cheers and hope you've a good year in 2007........at least the 1Q!!!!!! |

"[...But then again one or 2 swallows don't make a summer don't make a summer isn't it? Cometothink of it, quite similar to the Stock Markets - a few bad eggs don't mean that the whole Stock Market is bad!...]" -Ten4One Then how do you explain the oft-quoted saying that 95% of people playing the stock market lose money? Isn't this sufficient prove that the market is a not-so-easy-to-tame beast? |

Ya, helping other less fortunate fellow human beings is an honourable act which everyone of us must try to participate somehow. However, we must be discerning in where our good intentions end up - not to pay someone to travel first class on a plane whereas we get trombosis in the legs travelling in economy. Follow our government's example. Our government always give aid to our neighbours in the form of more physical goods and hardware and less in cash. They know that cash would end up paying for some "hardworking relief officials" and government officials to holiday with their family members in Hawaii or some paradize islands in the South Pacific. Read about reports in the press on sunami relief funds not being used to built homes for those poor people who are still living in tents!!! And also try to keep records on people whom you help and who later turn back and bite your heels - I'm referring to the sand story. |

Ya I agreed that NKF & YC have fouled the Charity Spirits, said to say so. But then again one or 2 swallows don't make a summer don't make a summer isn't it? Cometothink of it, quite similar to the Stock Markets - a few bad eggs don't mean that the whole Stock Market is bad! Therefore, be more careful with your donations and make sure the Managements 'distribute' the funds correctly. Cheers! PS. The dfferennce is giving to charity is from the heart where Investing in the stock market have to be the brain, though. |

Came across a Buddhist follower that said that "Kong De" (in chinese) should be made via own physical and financial means. Meaning if one go and buy anything and carry them to any charity organisations, one are "fulfilling" "Kong De". And if one gave any donations, and the donations "never reach" the intended people, those "embezzlers" are doing a "wicked" deed. The NKF saga really is a complicated one. Some will agreed with Durai and most will not. Anyway, just donate things/monies to help those lesser fortunate people is just the road to go for me. |

I am sad to say that the recent debacle in NKF and Youth Challenge has made many people, including me, wary of donations to charity. I am more likely to want to donate necessities like food and clothing rather than actual cash. Some old age homes do take in foodstuffs. |

Maybe the website Sharejunction website owner can think about arranging such a charity whereby members here can donate a small portion of their investment winnings to a deserving charity/group. Of course those who lost money would not need to donate. |
