How to be the 1st in queue before trading starts

For POEMS, one must key in after 5.15pm (actually to play fast, start to key in at 5.14pm then "wait" until 5.15pm to key in your last password, applicable to telebroker). I remembered last time in another forum that one forumeer mentioned that those brokerage house machines are very powerful and can "cut-queues". Don't know how true is it? But for last year Epure ipo, I keyed in at 8.45am at $1.90 and I got it. So I think it the pricing lor. Timing does play a factor, but if one keyed in a "rocket" price, I think timing won't be the deciding factor. |

oh goodness! *suddenly awake* in light of teeth53's post: let me just say that my broker doesn't give so-called inside info. he's just very much in tune with the market, TA/FA, that's all. kaoz....cannot get ppl into trouble like this.... ok back to zzz....yea byes singaporegal, gonna miss ya too! :))) |

Yes, Singaporegal's got the point there... It's better to see which way the train is moving before you hop on board. My broker used to teach me this, as previously I used to call him very early and ask him to queue for me. Then many times when he did as I told him, I'd always got in at a lousy price. So now I watch first, then I just jump on the asking price if I like the movement as I watch the action. He said this is how the pros do it.. |

Wow... sounds like your job is very hectic. I used to work 16 hour days too and I know what its like. OK... go to sleep and rest well. But make sure you come back to SJ! I always enjoy reading your postings. |

yea singaporegal...no sense being first in the queue if it's to get head chopped off first. always need caution.... so tired... workload increasing already. prob gonna disappear for a while from SJ. wanna zzz already; don't think i can make it to billywows and his coloured DOW reports... zzz... tell the shiok maestro nites for me. haha. market looks to be on a correction anyway. I sooo dislike thailand right now, i tell you. catch22, i've never used online brokering before, so i really have no idea of the comparison or relative merits or disadvantages of either. and i don't know how my broker does it too; it's his job, not mine. sorry. :) bullbear, all big fish start out from being small. may we all grow together! :))) ...and not get caught. >~< for the record, his name's Francis, from DBS vickers ballas. (sorry, i don't want to put hp no: up here. and paiseh, i dunno surname.) hehe, give him more biz. he's gonna wonder what the heck happened....and pls don't say an elf recommended you. he's gonna think it's a prank call. haha. |

Hi all, I think its only advantages to be first in the queue if you have real reliable insider news on the counter. Otherwise, I feel its better to wait to see how the trend unfolds in the day. |

shplayer, uob has streaming but they don't show the buy up and sell down which you guys have been posting. so previously when i see that kind of information, i used to wonder which brokerage you guys are using to allow u all to see that. what kayhian has is A-B system, which i think is the same thing: A=ask B=Bid. coming back to wat we are talking about, the orders are not accepted by KH any time b4 6-pm (i actually 'played' with it at differ timings b4). so like tat i lugi leh when it comes to "priority queuing" :P i have a white elephant which is fraser. in another thread i asked about comments on fraser (alot on uob, poems, etc) but thk no one here use it? coz no reply. |

bunbun, I use to use uobkh...but their trading software seems very outdated. No streaming on watchlist etc.... Now I use iOCBC.....very happy with it. For me, as long as the clock crosses 1706 hrs, it will accept my orders. |

shplayer, i tried doing that before. but the system will tell me 'trading has stopped for the day' and reject my orders. but then once the time hit 6-pm, it can accept. why is this so? me using kayhian. elf, your broker powerful. can recommend? |

For online trading, key in orders from 1706 hrs onwards to queue for the next trading day. Queue priority will be first by price, then by entry time. For those who use brokers, then I suppose you can ask him/her to do the entry before going home...but there is a danger here. If, for example, the market turns overnight (DOW), and you want to make changes/withdraw, you hope your broker gets to work on time. For me, I do it online....and I double check the situation in the morning in case of any changes. |

hm, like i said, i'm not sure how he does it. em...lemme say first that i trade by proxy (ie, buy under a relation's name). but yea, this broker is fantastic. he gives pretty reliable tips too. he's served the family for 2 generations already, so not sure, but i think we get some privileges with him...like i get to do stuff like ask him to put a stop-loss order valid for rest of week, but only sell if the bid vols way outweigh the ask. etcetc. but even if these aren't privileges, he really is very efficient. erm. wait. i don't think its nice to give name and hp no online leh....if you're interested lemme ask him first. haha. |
