Hi bunbun, There are good reading resources from Investopedia.com about Accumulation/Distribution and Chaikin. Basically what Acc/Dist does is to measure the buying and selling presure on a stock. Once you look at the mathematics, its really easy to understand. So when the Acc/Dist is uptrending, it means there are more buyers than sellers so the price will probably go up. Chaikin is slightly more complex because its actually constructed using Acc/Dist values. What it does is that it forecasts Acc/Dist. |

By the way Swiber is still on it's downtrend now and could even go down to 0.75 . Why not just wait and see how it developes first? When the signs are clearer on the chart, you can 'take a punt' on it. |

Hi bunbun (what a cute name!)... You can't simply draw lines for the indicators, and there are numerous of them, because they are formulae based on buy/sell action derived from a large sampling of transactions (vol), usually computed by software and then plotted onscreen. But you are on the right track by deciding to learn charting. If you are serious about playing the market, it is essential for you to attend a TA course, or get some good books. |

i am definitely a novice, but i didn't manage to get the ipo. so now am looking at getting it. today close at 0.88 so am tempted to get some for myself. what do you think, ipunter? Singaporegal, i am also looking at ho bee (to learn the charting). but am quite confused when it comes to drawing lines for AD and Chaikin. how does one use AD and Chaikin? |

Swiber was the perfect candidate for learning how to make money quickly, coz if you were a novice who got it through IPO, you'd have made so much money already. ... lol... :) |

Hi bunbun, Swiber is not a good choice for learning because its a relatively new stock and therefore doesn't have enough history or data for TA analysis. Try another stock like SGX or M1 or Starhub. |
