Singaporegal, Perhaps you've not put more attention in the stock, that's why the signals eluded you. Well, can't blame you, as I know you are busy following a multitude of counters with your TA arsenal :). |

Chart patterns are just one aspect of TA. I'm more of a trend follower... I look at the price trend and those in RSI, Accumulation/Distribution. Hi-P rise didn't show up in the charts and took me by surprise. Well.... this happens from time to time. :) |

But I though chart patterns are part and parcel of TA ? Anyway, this stock is behaving healthily, technically speaking. So far, that is. Today's retreat is a normal pull-back, I should think. Perhaps a chance to get in (today). |

Hi puntit, I guess what I meant was MY TA analysis wasn't accurate for this one. I don't really believe in chart patterns like flagpoles and such. |

Hi Singaporegal, This stock went up according to TA. It's clearly a classic flagpole formation! So how can u say TA failed. It didn,t. By the way to digress a bit from the topic of pure TA, I remember some 30 years back, there was a dancer by the name Nicholas Darvas. He personally used a system known as the "Box System" which made him a lot of money in the stock market.His system aims to buy only stocks that are going up. Basically he would look out for a stock that go up and remain within higher and higher "boxes". As these boxes become higher, he would buy more of that particular stock. He did make a lot with his method without knowing what TA meant, being only a performing dancer. Now we know his 'Boxes System' is actually a trend line in TA terms. So that goes to show everything is TA! |

Hi Singaporegal, It is obviously a reversal underway for Hi-P. Very soon I think it will live up to its name. 3 cheers to TA, 3 cheers to Singaporegal. I mean, it's a flagpole in action! :) |

Hi Allan, How are you? So you reckon we should jump in if it breaks out above 0.89? Yea, I think it will hit the sky if it really breaks out of 0.89. But when it does, I am afraid the ensuing chase may be so frenzied that we will find it hard to enter. So it may be safer to enter earlier as an insurance. We can always quickly dump it if we are proven wrong. No need to save face. |

Hi, Singaporegal and Puntit. Just share my thoughts. May be wrong. I do not see Hi-p having a clear downtrend now. On the contrary, one may monitor and consider entry at an appropriate time. For an aggresive trader, a possibility of entry at $0.855/$0.86 may be considered as a short downtrend resistance line has been broken this morning. On the other hand, a more conservative person may see the price still consolidating within a rectangular channel and may consider breakout only above $0.89. I have limited knowledge on use of indicators. For the few that I know I Can't rely on them at this point. |

Singaporegal, You are so very right about time. I agree with you completely time is the factor. Investing is all about time, not just about money alone. When the time is ripe, that's when we must move and do it. Waiting and watching may let the bird fly away. That's my gut feel. Hope you won't mind my suggestion. |

You're right to take my comments with a pinch of salt! I only interpret a counter's TA signals and may be wrong from time to time. Time will time how this counter behaves. |
