Globalvoice announced more than five new deals, but failed to power up. It's just that investors can't be impatiently waiting indefinitely for any share to move north when there are relatively faster opportunities in other shares!! |

Hmm..went to invest in Neratel cause I read up on their increasing deals these past weeks. Thought it was powering up again. And with the up and coming trends of wireless sg and wimax broadband, thought it would be good. Haha..oh well...thanks again hikitty! :) |

Hi lempeh U r always welcome. SJ is a platform hopefuly for "small-time anglers" (sorry if u r "big" not "small") to provide helpful advice. I was vested in Neratel for a few years, and the dividend was at least 3% every year. After having waited patiently to recover my loss (through the dividends) I decided to quit Neratel. Guess the BBs are just squatting there to collect the dividends coz' at its peak, Neratel was more than $2. If nobody wants to sell any share at low prices (except for the next-of-kin of dead investors), how are the BBs to ramp up the share prices. Frankly, the FMs are also not interested!! Another telecom company to avoid is Globalvoice. While it has remained stagnant for a few years, it has NOT paid out any dividend so far. Shame to companies whose directors (NOT mentioning any company in particular) are members of NATO (not National Assembly of Trade Organisations, BUT No Action, Talk Only) and appear to be "high flyers", but are unable to steer their companies out of the doldrums!!!. . |

Hi lempeh Forget about "orphan" shares e.g. Neratel, Grandbanks and Eu Yan Sang (if I am not wrong) unless you are just interested in collecting the annual dividends. Most old shares of yesteryears have been abandoned by BBs or FMs and can remain stagnant (i.e. be traded sideways) for years coz' there is (to be blatantly truthful) just NOT enough $$$ to support the mushrooming number of shares (or shd I called it "wild-grass growth") . Without any parent or parents to steer the ships, they are just being tossed aimlessly in the wide wide ocean The Singapore Govt shd act by ordering SGX to stop listing any more new companies (unless they have proved profitable for at least the past six, NOT three years to qualify to be listed) if it wants to protect the hard-earned $$$ of investors (Don't forget most CPF investors have not recovered their losses coz' the recovery has not been extensive, i.e. has not affected the shares of yesteryears) |
