700 mln more for higher rates? maybe they should do something with the investment managers to improve returns further. tell you something, if someone says he cannot take high risks, what would you do with him? tell him to invest in safe instruments or convince him and educate him more about equities investments? I would suggest the latter as the formal is just the easy way out, but that person will suffer forever and not dare to take higher risks, that means he is forever poor. In the same way, if the fund managers of some organizations managing the people's money can invest for higher returns and not think about the easy way out like what I said above, then they would be easily able to make more than 700 mln in addition to their current returns. If this happens, they would not need to find other ways to cover the deficit. Agree? ....... What do you guys think? |

I think it is a vicious cycle leh.... more ERP theoretically will improve traffic leading to more CEOs released leading to more traffic leading to more ERP .... |

sohguan, The note I refered to is about a single bet and NOT a shoe. Like that add salt add vinegar, the discussion no end. Do I know if there is credit faciilities? hehe. Are you a gambler yourself? mebbie if you can quantify the word BIG with a numerical number so that some of use here can see if we qualify to be BIG. *wink* |

somehow..i feel that the govt will hv to "re-fill" the nation's treasury when it was announced that 700mil will be the annual cost by govt to up the CPF rate by 1% ...cant be running a nation with deficit right? so those who can afford the luxury to buy and drive car will of course "expected" to cough up more to "help" build up the nation's $$ reserve again mah......if not u take bus/mrt loh...but hey!! SBS and SMRT applied for fare increases also right?!??! ...hmm.... |

KilRoy: do you know if you are a big time player in casino there are credit facilities available? it does not mean your monies is wiped off in a single bet. you can recoup again. the keyword is if you are a BIG TIME player in casino. in stock market contra and short is available to any one who trades so that is why I say big time casino players are the really big players whereas stock market offers BOTH big time and short time players like nickyng a chance to make a killing. in this aspect small timers play stock market better else if play casino liao chor :) |

Mani, When you gamble in a casino and when you lose the money is GONE in a single bet. With the stock market, the lost may just be paper lost and there is a possibility of winning again if the stock price appreciates. If you contra, then you have three or four days to fast and pray for price appreciation. The stock market is usually refered to as a 'casino' but in true sense its the casino matality that termed the stock market as casino. We 'punt' on stocks for quick money when we dont do enuff research. No offend to anyone... thats just my humble understanding. |

Please dont call CTE & PIE expressways. They are NOT. LTA should just call them MAJOR Roads. So many entry and exit ramps. sigh.. The additional ERP gantries and extend hours on those road will not help ease the traffic jam. We all know its the number of cars on road and each year its rising (check the lta stats). Also the area 42km wide and 26 km in breadth of Sillypore is small. Migrate lah! hehehe. a highway built to accommodate high-speed travel by automobiles, having at least two traffic lanes in each direction and having LIMITED access to the highway via ramps. |

Why is it one must gamble small in the stock market? If one is a gambler at the other casinos, one can also treat the stock market as a casino too. And a stock market can function as a perfect casino too for those who treat it as a casino...  |

aya...ERP up then dont drive car loh...we got WORLD CLASS transportation of buses and MRT wat ?? ......my foots lah !!...every evening hv to squeeze with ah put nieh..arm pit so smelly...if u lucky squeeze with perfume-overwhelming-pretty ladies still ok...hee..... wah! like dat how??! at the rate ERP is implemented i forsee the future when you drive your car out of the carpark you pay ERP fees already. they will erect ERP at the entrances of the carpark. so ppl who live in HDB better upgrade to private property that came with carpark lots where govt cannot go inside and setup ERP gantries :P |
