Interesting article. Too bad it does not touch on methods to break-free from a fatal attraction, something which would be very useful at this stage. |

Not in normal mainstream meditations for calming the mind but practitioners of esotoric traditions such as tantra, and health cultivators do believe that certain directions are better in terms of energy, prana or chi in Chinese. Certain places also accelerates their progress such as mountains and sea-sides where yin and yang energies meet and thus consider a point of neutral force. Some also believe that a woman who cultivates under moonlight will becomes more feminine and beautiful after a few years. Some meditates in caves where they believe the earth energy is highest. Also the time of the day to go into certain directions is important to them as they are harnessing the universal energies around them..... me not into all these though. |

haha.. okie good on you... more economical and its good for the body and mind too!! was told that whilst doing meditation, there should be preferably a direction one should face... not all directions are good and beneficial.... don't know if you have heard of this... |

Hi Blackjac, You're right. Fell in love with the teachings of Lao Tzu and Buddha. Nowadays meditate to pass my time instead of pubbing......

iPunter, No, I'm not into Nichiren School of Buddhism (Namo Myoho Renge Kyo) but reads alot of Mahayan Sutras, such as Lotus, Heart, etc... the Diamond Sutra is very good too. Mainly into Pali Cannon where I prefer to interpret the teaching of Buddha directly. |

Ultrameg, So your heart broke twice. I hope you have healed your heart. Anyway just in case, letting go of worldly attachment is the fastest way to seal back the broken heart. My heart was broken the day I was born when I found out I am on a death sentence called aging but has healed after letting go.... 
Chanting the "Heart Sutra" daily is also very good... |
