Some idiot trying to surpress the price of chasen by throwing a couple of dollars, just look at this:
Could it be somebody hoping to enter and buy in bulk??? Or maybe just a person with too much money to burn. (not alot though, coz he only spent eleven dollars, although the commission probably set him back by another 25 bucks.) |

Your comparison between the two are valid too. However, I still have reservations on investing in such a BIG shares outstanding company (~13bilns) consider that it arrive right from the IPO era while, Goldtron with ~3-4 bilns came about only after a failed business in 1997 whereby it go thru' some "Judicial Management" It makes investor look more like a "fool" consider that any earnings will be diluted eventually. I'm not vested in both counter, just use it as case study example. If I need to bet on either one, it will only be the least ie: 0.05cts and prepare to hold the baby for another decades or so. |

Fundamentally, your opinons are absolutely right! However, I wish to point out a few factors: 1) In terms of future prospects, I will think that Chasen stands a better chance of improving its prospects because it's core business is in a niche high end relocation business and it is in better position to withstand the upcoming recession (or market slow down) In contrast, Goldtron's business is in the electronis sector which is basically a sunset industry, plus the fact that its last report show this: 29 August 2007- FY 2007 Results Highlights
2) Chasen has its nose in the right direction, with several of it holdings already in the medical industry which is set to boom with worldwide aging population. This is in contrast to Goldtron's relatively more recent interest in dental and healthcare products. 3) Worst of all, I quote this from the Goldtron forum: Goldtron has appointed executive director Ong Soon Kiat, its former executive chairman, as its new CEO. The electronics company has also appointed Choy Peng Lam as an executive director. Mr Ong's return to the helm of Goldtron comes 8 years after he had been forced to resign as executive chairman, and a director, in January 2000 following his conviction for market rigging in March 1999. He was fined a total of $250,000 after he pleaded guilty to 5 charges accusing him of creating a false impression that trading in the counter was active between July and October of 1995. Three other charges against him of creating a false appearance with respect to Goldtron's share prices were taken into consideration. His conviction had led the Registrar of Companies to ask him to resign from his directorships. Mr Ong took legal action to obtain relief to act as a director, and the courts subsequently allowed him to continue as a director. Goldtron reappointed Mr Ong as an executive director in April 2000. In the current market condition, you are right, such small caps shares are probably gonna stagnate, but because of its low price, one can probably hold on to it and await for the next rebound to cash in. But I think you are missing the point with small caps. The absolute value of these counters may not be much, but I don't think you will find too many shares with the capacity to double in value even in the last bull run. For those that did, the higher costs for buying into those counters probably mean that the absolute profit after cashing in would be lower than if they had bought into small caps. |

This type of counter is as good as shit during current market condition. Imagine, share issue of ~13bil during IPO with added Right Issue, more dilution. If the company can make 13mil(unlikely base on its record), EPS is only 0.1 cts. But minimum bid in its share price is 0.5cts......how to play? Take the eg of counter like Goldtron, with only a few billion shares issue(3-4 times lesser), if u track its share performance even during the super bull run last year, you will probably know what I meant. |

Correct me if i'm wrong but think its 66 times EPS and 10 time book value even at 1ct? There are many good penny stocks with strong fundamentals, low EPS and discount to book value. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Chasen is in the black with a positive financial report and trading at the lowest practical price of 1 cent already. It will probably not trade at half a cent unless some director got the shares for free and is selling it to raise some cash, or someone has personal reasons for wanting out. Coz the lowest price it can be bought is half a cent and normally investors will like to earn something from buying shares, and the next bid price is 1 cent. Share consolidation seems unlikely since it has always been trading in this small cap range. Furthermore, being in a niche market, it seems unlikely that it will be affected by competition and price cuttings as the market slows. Just 1 last point: Blue chips seem to be the target as the economy slows, and so far prices of shares seem unaffected by postitve reports, only negative ones. This means that all stocks are falling and everyone is trying to catch the bottoming out. Chasen is already rock bottom, so why bother to risk failing to catch the bottom of other shares, when this is one share that has plainly hit rock bottom? The only way is up! |
