Allow me to weigh in on the coffee discussion. Re 3 in 1 coffee.... try the TESCO house brand (its a UK supermarket chain in Malaysia)....very reasonably priced.....good aroma but a little weak in taste. What I do is I add half tea spoon of 'Taster's Choice' to it. Quick, simple and good. TESCO also have their 3 in 1 in latte and mocha. These are very good. For hawker center coffee....try the hawker center at Upper Thomson Road.....next to the SPC and Mobil station (jct Jln Leban/ Upp Thomson Rd) nr Pierce Reservior. Stall name is 39....located next to the fish soup stall, facing the park/play ground. |

bukit whipsaw....lol. lemme guess, you queue at one px, cannot get, see it going up, panic, and rush in to buy cos scared will miss? :P hehe. it's ok lah. if your stocks are fundamentally supported, a few cents shdn't make much of a dif since it's long term you're holding. unless you're trading lah, in which case, timing matters more... zzz...elf is bored...gotta wk tmrw. sian. ferrochina appears to be waiting for something to happen... |

eastonbay...unisteel appears to be downtrending; but the downtrend might be ending soon tho. equal no of buy at seller's px and sell at buyer's px. MFI shows smart money flowing out of the counter starting from 5 days ago. be careful of break below 1.88. fyi. |

Hi gals, good to have you around. Am busy with my daughter and family. Extra 5 bodies . Need to get some breather. I'll have to wait for them to go home to Canada then I 'm getting my kitchen redone. That may take quite a while then have coffee with you maybe. |

Where's elfie? Hi choohian and chinkiasu, Speaking of coffee... frankly I can't really understand why people go for Starbucks or Coffee Bean's gourmet coffee. I actually don't like the cream or the chocolate in my cuppa. I just prefer the kopi from Ya Kun much more. |

haha, cks, you have some very cute emoticons. i like the coffee drinking one. :) stocks: actually, if you are a true WB adherent, you wouldn't be buying anything on the SGX/Sesdaq... They're all at/above NAV already. in some cases, many, many times above NAV, with no real justification, even with white knights or whatever. A real value investor wld try to pick up a stock only at 1/3 to 1/2 of NAV. Which means, either do value plays in other countries (S Korea, Taiwan and Malaysia are candidates, as is Japan), alternatively, switch strategy if you're in local market: It's growth, momentum and TA plays left. elfie still holding onto smb. playing sembcorp and cosco now. scalped achieva twice last week; thanks to shplayer hehe. (note: not an inducement to trade ah...) getting tougher to make money tho...it's really scrapping the barrel here. :( good luck to all and happy hunting! asterisk, do learn to read some charts yea; it'd help your FA a lot. :) |

oh! guangzhou! noisy, busy, but food is very nice yes, i went to 7-star cave , very nice, there are other caves in northen side of guangzhou, underground type, very cool inside. also I went to Bai-Yun-Shang ( white cloud hill) , near the old airport, nice gardens, fresh air, especially when weather is cool. BTW, I like chinese flower tea, especially the 'Gui-hua-cha", yellow colour, very fragrant, nice when mixed with other chinese tea.. |

cks, actually me too.. too many counters... Watched Warren Buffet's video clips on youtube as recommended by someone yesterday.. a 10-parts clips as WB spoke to MBA students. He recommends having only about 8 stocks for diversification. I'm trying to unwind and be like a 'double' WB...keeping about 16 counters. Reason being that there are counters that are like golden goose to me and therefore I won't unwind. These 8 counters I will hold for as long as there is no major depression or collapse of the stock market (these do not require any monitoring). THe other 8 which I monitor like Pac Andes. I find it a bit weird to use the word 'tip'... some strange feeling associated with it. |

Hi eastonbay, many thanks for the Chinahuanbang tip... it looks quite interesting/promising despite china government trying to cool the market, property stocks there are still hot stuff...... but I think I am now vested in too many counters.. and in fact right now I get dizzy trying to monitor them ..... my little brain cannot take it and in fact I am shutting some down to only go for a select few.... meanwhile I think I go for cuppa... |

hi asterisk!!! I think on the contrary, according to an article from Alzheimers Society, There have been suggestions that caffeine might delay or prevent Alzheimer?s disease. However, research has involved only small numbers of people and often relied on their memory of how much coffee they drank much earlier in their lives. It is hoped that current research will yield a clearer picture of the impact of known caffeine consumption on dementia risk. What the research tells us There are three effects of caffeine that might enable it to protect against or reverse brain changes related to dementia. Firstly, it can stimulate brain cells to take in choline. This is the building block they need to make acetylcholine, the brain chemical, or neurotransmitter, that is reduced in dementia. Secondly, caffeine interferes with the action of another neurotransmitter called adenosine. It has been suggested that this action, or the 'knock-on' effect on other neurotransmitters, might be beneficial in Alzheimer?s disease. Finally, chemicals related to caffeine seem to be able to damp down the activity of 'housekeeping' cells in the brain, called glia. A recent review of one such chemical, propentofylline, concluded that it might benefit cognition, global function and activities of daily living in people with Alzheimer's disease and/or vascular dementia, but further information is awaited. While glia are important in keeping the brain free of dead and injured cells, their activity can sometimes be too thorough, and can damage surrounding brain areas. Whether caffeine can keep glial activity in check in such a way that it could prevent dementia is not known. Should I start drinking more coffee/tea? It is certainly too soon to say that our morning coffee or afternoon cup of tea is more than a pleasant pick-me-up. |

here's my cup of tea (or shall i call it top-tea ! ) ( formula for 1 cup of tea ) 1 teaspoon of 'tajmahal' or 'red label' tea OR 2 teaspoon of 'coconut tree' tea bring 250ml of water to boil . throw the tea into the boiling water and immediately turn off the heat . let the tea cook in the boiled water for about 5 minutes. strain the tea. into the decoction : add 1 tablespoon of full cream milk and add 1 table spoon of sugar let it cool for a few minutes (maybe be about 5 to 10 minutes at room temperature) till you would see a thin layer of 'cream ' floating on top and drink it up ..........mmmm.........simply heaven ....! its even great with a few cream crackers as accompaniment ! |
