EastonBay, thanks for the info on UOB. An increase from $1 to $2 is a huge jump (ie. a 100% increase). With $2, I can buy a bowl of cheng teng , with a change of 50cts in return. |

1234567, the usual explanation from the bank: increasing backroom cost, blah blah blah, they have been shouldering it, blah blah blah, and therefore to increase it. Usually such increase was done rather quietly... most investors will think.. 'what's $2, can't buy you a plate of chicken rice in some hawker centers where they sell for $2.5'. Anyway, I have found out the UOB still charges only $1 because I have just made the application with UOB, since they are the underwritter! Lelong lelong, only $1 appln fee at UOB. |

there was a charge fee of S$2 for subscribing this IPO instead of the usual S$1. Any ideas why a 100% increase in the fee ?

Cheap Sales at Lelong price. Chances is closing tomorro at 12 noon and after that, those lucky fellows who got it it like striking a small 4D lottery, very good chances to top from 0.48cts to more then 0.50cts ++ on it 1st trading day., so it is a hot stock.

I would think that there would be over-subscription for this counter and chance of getting it is as slim as like previous IPO. If you know how to play strategic placing, may stand a good chance though... good luck to everyone who IPO-ed in it |

Hi, newbie here. I'm personally not too sure if the IR will help SGH's growth. According to the prospectus, their 5 biggest customers are Dantech, Tate and Lyle, Sunsing, Flowserve and Solid Connection. All of these do not belong to the Construction/Oil and Petrochemical industries. Given that, I do not think that they will get a lot of business coming from the "IR wave". So a buy-and-sell approach seems more prudent. Thoughts? |

looking good: The future development of integrated resorts in Singapore The integrated resorts are expected to enhance Singapore?s reputation as a tourist destination, to capture a fair share of the large number of tourists expected to travel to this region. With a development of this scale, there will be strong demand for construction material and we believe our Company will benefit from this as stainless steel will be used in the construction of the resorts or other structures within the resorts. For example, the applications of Grade 316 stainless steel products include architectural panelling, railings and trimmings. As a leading distributor of stainless steel products in Singapore, we will be in a position to benefit from this when construction of the integrated resorts commences. For FY2006 and HY2007, our sales to the construction industry formed approximately 12% and 9%, respectively, of total project sales. With the advent of the integrated resorts project, this contribution may improve in the future. |
