Which is why i didnt celebrate even hk price runs up so much in less than 2 weeks, can only count myself lucky to be able to get so many experts advices and buy below its NAV. I know as long as i havent sold all are still paper profits, so there really is nothing to feel happy about, except that it has gained more notice and attention. My LT holdings are sealed and locked until it reaches my targets, which is moving higher. Noises are normal in such free public forum as not all are LT investors but more traders. Others just want to have abit of fun. Others acted like sha-perts who must give their 2c worth although they don't own any HK. Amongst them, there may reside vultures too. As I have advised at CNA Marketalk, you must believe in your own value judgment, and know why you are buying a company's share. At the end, you are a buisness owner in HK as shareholders. BBs may not push HK up all the time, so eventually the euphoria may die down unless David authenticate his own word (like ramping up M & A), it may also mean news on HK's expansion, M& A, etc. will get more and more positive going forward. It is just my opinion that HK is still in puberty stage, soon she should grow to be a beautiful teenager and definitely will attract many suitors and `chee ko peks" who will chase her to the moon. But eventually I will have to marry her off to someone else who admires her in her more mature age. Hopefully I get her at her peak, which anyone who invested long enough will know it is very difficult, if not near impossible. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Thanks i think i get what you are trying to put across. I have decided to give up on speculation/punting. Makes me feel ill at ease. Yes, if u strike the jackpot u feel over the moon but how often can i strike, and conversely i will feel right at the bottom when i punted incorrectly. As a small investor, i can only buy low and hope that the Company's business will do well so that someday its value would be reflected justified in its share price. In an uptend i may buy on dips but will not chase the highs. I will sell only when the fundamentals have changed or when David makes some stupid moves, hopefully u guys can give your insights, comments and updates for small investors' references. People who sell short, you sell your stock (with confirmed profit if bought lower) and those short will have to cover back at some time and only then they make profit (or loss) while you will be investing to add or restore your holdings thereby averaging down your holding cost. The risk is like I said, the share continues to run away. I assume it just mean making less but still make and if you didn't dispose all, should just look at the bright side that you are still 'making more' with what you are holding. This is call Ah Q 精 神 :) It helps to maintain a sound mental frame and cool head to trading :)

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	No doubt of Hankore prospect. As said, I'm looking to enter Hankore again even at higher price I sold when I'm more comfortable. Making money is about selling higher than what you buy and hence the entry price is relative. Risk management is critical to protecting gain. It is undoubtedly very painful if the stock runs away and sometimes, just have to let go and grab the next boat coming along. No matter how well a stock's fundamental is, it is still susceptible o global events and esp what happen in US. With the FED leadership uncertain as to who and when to succeed Benanke and US govt shut down looming Oct 1 are just some issues to keep watch and not to be caught off guard. Even a guru as Oei Hong Leong is weak against events beyond his control. We are buying for price appreciation and not the business of the company whose stocks we are buying. The share price need not correct as sideline movement in the short term can do too to moderate the overbought state. Hankore may once again ignore macro market movement and has a life of its own as the BBs continue to support HK strongly.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Told you guys already that the Chix rice here is too good that he has to spend SGD5M to relocate.. :).   hahaha..All moves are calculated and every decision made comes with risks. Whether this is a right move or wrong move..Mr Market eventually determines.  Consider the following :- - HK is slated for an expansion of another 900ton/day capacity which will give him lots of projects to do in China. (total contracted 2470ton) - M& A activities is going to come fast and furious in the next 12 months. - existing projects to complete. - water tariffs to negotiate  The above already requires half of his time in China...and yet he is making a strategic move to Singapore.   Believe he has considered all those factors before he made the decision to relocate the HQ. But relocating the HQ does not mean he is out of China completely...so Why?     Does he need to relocate to secure funds? Does he need to spend 365 days to get more funds when the rest of the MTN is not even touched? Is he going to do that for the next 4 to 5 yrs? Is securing fund a full time job? What will he do with the secured funds? and why Singapore? Fund is one thing, but without a   business plan to execute, 1Million is just 1Million.   And funds costs money...how to repay such funds depends on the business. So what is David going to do with the funds he gets? For what FURTHER business? Only David and a few knows   exactly what they are today....but we can guess guess la. Since there is no point speculating what they are, we can only wait for more updates or question David at the AGM. At the moment, enjoy the wild ride up with some times wild gyrations (sideways and downways). They must have done their due diligence otherwise why take such a risk? They must have done their homework otherwise he would not have commented that " there are strategies" to compete with BEWG and BOT. While the business in China continues to grow and expand further in China, there is a possibility of David and his international friends (boustead wong?? maybe) cooking up an international storm. I dont know what storm it is at the moment (trusts??, M& A with Boustead or with other biggies??, projects elsewhere??) but i hope it is a good one.  Magician often use the trick of misdirection..telling us those reasons on Edge magazine for moving to Sg may be a misdirection while the actual trick is yet to be revealed. Would love to see what this magician from China will do with his little wand.   Watch out for this space..more stories to come as and when David makes his moves

There are hardly serious mid to long term investors. However, they do get burnt at times, like the Minzhong case you mentioned. Oei Hong Leong just got limelight again for suing Goldman Sach for losing S$38m in less than a mth betting on Brazilian Real-Japanes Yen trade when he was caught off guard when Benanke announced plan to taper QE. Nothing compared to what he sued Citi Group in 2008 for S$1B ! These guys simply believe they can move the market with piles of cash that they are managing. They can't control the macro picture. So we should still pay attention to the real market (not just the SGX market) for guidance as they will eventually set the course.
