Hankore onward march to 8-10cts. Post Reply Rate topic

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	If we want Hankore to remain a Chinese municipal water treatment company competing with the numerous startups there, then yes of course, let their HQ remain in BeiJing. That being said, it is easier to branch out into international markets when a company's HQ is in Singapore than if it is in China. Sad fact, but true. Without the backing of SOEs, HK is better off headquartering in Singapore. Take note that schips listed in countries such as in the US are also facing increasing regulatory scrutiny, a federal activity that deters potential investors, especially if there is no SOE backstop. I doubt HK intends to compete in local infrastructure projects already dominated by the likes of Hyflux. What HK can do is tap more easily the local expertise in the water treatment business as well as branch out to neighboring countries.

x 1   x 0  Alert Admin	I have a different opinion. I agree with Lucky, I am not sure  it is a right move to move the headquarter to Singapore. Most of the time, big company would have their headquarter or regional office nearer to their customer, where daily meeting with government official/customer are necessary. This strategy to me is a bit 'unusual'. If we say HK is looking for more fund in the future, I don't think it will be too difficult to get it if the fundamental is improving. Some more they still have  unused  MTN at hand at the moment. I am also puzzled Mr Chen goes to  the extend to put SGD 5 millions so that he could get his PR in Singapore. There are hardly serious mid to long term investors. However, they do get burnt at times, like the Minzhong case you mentioned. Oei Hong Leong just got limelight again for suing Goldman Sach for losing S$38m in less than a mth betting on Brazilian Real-Japanes Yen trade when he was caught off guard when Benanke announced plan to taper QE. Nothing compared to what he sued Citi Group in 2008 for S$1B ! These guys simply believe they can move the market with piles of cash that they are managing. They can't control the macro picture. So we should still pay attention to the real market (not just the SGX market) for guidance as they will eventually set the course.

However for the business growth and operational and corporate oversight, it may still be better to stay put as China registered company for doing business in China. This may be more true for an environment protection industry as it is often a protected industry and hence local government may be more Inclined to award to China registered company. David and gang have done a marvelous PR that has given rise to HK being flagged as a turnaround story and highly likely to be re-rated. Next week will be the1 week anniversary since it started surging from Monday onwards. In US, there are uncertainties with QE tapering now expected to happen in Oct as well as the funding for the govt before they are forced to shut down. The house has approved stopgap budget but at the expense of ObamaCare which President Obama already threatened to veto. It may not be so appropriate for me to offer another view when the mood is so highly positive, esp when I've temporarily cashed out. HK long term is very positive but I'm not as certain for the short term... for now. I'm having some interest in commodity stock now :) Just thought that there may be some correlation between inflation and commodity prices. Given that tapering may happen in Oct, interest rate is likely to rise nudging up certain degree of inflation. MAS has started to clamp down on housing loan, car loan and now personal unsecured loan indicate that MAS anticipated interest rate will rise soon.

The share price need not correct as sideline movement in the short term can do too to moderate the overbought state. Hankore may once again ignore macro market movement and has a life of its own as the BBs continue to support HK strongly.

BBs will push to their price until it hits to set base for their next price. In a down market, BB jumped to buy up at 7.7c, not 7.3c/7.4c with 35K lots. If BBs can do this in a down day, BBs is powderful man. The chartists have also taken notice of HK. http://robinhosmartrade.blogspot.sg/ Robin Ho from Philips has posted charts on Hankore almost every day in the past week and he has been quite accurate on this stock so far. Next resistance is 8.6c and long term target is 10c!!!
