Yeh, but I believe there is a limit. Nothing can goes up forever. It's also healthy to have some consolidation. Otherwise, like the saying, the higher you go, the more deadly will be your fall. |

Hi Geojam, I expect the consolidation to begin from June 2007 at the latest, but I may be wrong. In my opinion, anything above 3,500 for the STI is dangerous. The only crazy market around nowadays is the Shanghai market. It has been cheonging like nobody's business, but I think it's a speculative bubble in the making and waiting to burst. |

Hi Geojam, ComfortDelgro may be up, but I cannot understand why SMRT is even better? Anyway, I am slowing down now and plan to accumulate again during the anticipated correction. |

k, a quick post in midst of work: StA: control today at 1.17. This baby quite easy to track. Very strong retail interest for some reason. And one bullish small BB. Just ride it out. quite stable. hh: same story. hold steady amidst the rollercoaster. game of nerves. sit pretty. SPC: large lots buying. be careful tho. could easily be just a tech rebound since stock has dropped for previous week, from high of 4.86 on 2nd may. c/o up 2 days, a/d still down. divergence going on. watch for break above 4.86 for chance of going higher. note that SPC's intraday trading range has always been quite large, abt 10c. sometimes it's even higher--17th apr trading range 16c. so an 8c rise a day is act not out of the ordinary. k that's all for now. and eastonbay, you want your tee-boon same size, you come and cut them up yourself. haha. i'm updating StA 'cos vested interest. hp. :P haha, k byes all! |

geojam, When you are back, spend time with your mum, be it just chit chat or just being beside each other. I am sure she misses you. All mothers feel this way towards their children, no matter how old they are. And they may not say it out loud, but take a closer look, it's in their eyes. |

Hi choohian, Thanks for your concern. Wow, happy 66th birthday to you. I wish we could be like you and your hubby when we reach that age ourselves,...... shuttling around the globe and carefreely enjoying the golden years,..... although I must say that we don't have children ourselves, so no grandchildren as well lah. Well, I've been monitoring some penny stocks lately, eg: Digiland and Jasper, but have no guts to go in big big. Otherwise, would have made tons of $$$$ in quick short time. (do read my posting in the Jasper thread). I'd only have some Digiland shares, which were given FOC to me from GES previously. But at today's price of about 4.5c is still no good because Digiland at one time was as high as 29c. I think the merry making in Digiland could be over now with not much further potential. Any FA here would like to comment on these 2 counters aka, Digiland and Jasper? I understand TA would be useless here because of their minute price movements. |

Hi elf If u have a portfolio of shares that are marginable,say,50 lots of STE,20 lots of SPC and50 lots of HH.Your portfolio is worth a mkt value of about $300k at today closing px.If ur loan is say $100k,there will be no margin call as it is only about 33% of borrowing .Way below the the 70%. If ur portfolio only say contains HH.At todays closing px is worth about $52k.then it depends on how much u have borrowed in the beginning. If u have borrowed say $30k,then ur percentage is 58% which is still ok. Shd HH falls further tmr to say 96 cents, then ur HH is only worth $48k.Ur percent is 63%.30k divide by48k. I think u will be in trouble, cos HH is not a grade A counter. At most they will give u a percentage of 60%,thus u have exceed the limit and a margin call is underway. Sporegal, when i go back to spore for holidays ,i like to eat with my mum.cos can see her 'closer' and enjoy the food as well. She is 82. She will always get the maid to cook my fave. But the maid's cooking somewhat different. Choohian--oic,ur children lives in Canada.which part of Canada?Vancouver? |

Eastonbay on the other hand loves Achar! Somehow it's one thing I missed a lot when am overseas. Not ba kwa. or whatever. It is also easier at foreign customs because it says "preserved vegetable" which are ok at most customs (except maybe australia) as compared to Meat/Pork etc. Wonder when will I get to taste homemade achar, with every piece of tee-boon of the same length, width and thickness!! muahahaha (learnt this expression from elf actually). Yeah man, I hope the sweet potato really turns out to be sweet! Up Up Up ! Elf: thanks for keeping a lookout over at STAsia and updated story re: BB. |

elf likes cookies. hehe. and yea choohian, happy, happy birthday!! heehee. on cooking: let's just say it's something i do only when necessary. haha. trouble's that when your mum's a good cook, you get chased out of the kitchen all the time for not meeting her high standards. and like, when you're helping her to make achar (elf is part peranakan), all the flipping cucumbers and carrots have to be sliced to the same width, length and thickness!!! like, the first one, fine, but when you're cutting up the 40th one..... is canada a nice place to emigrate to? i'm kinda looking out for a nice country leh... anyhow, a bit tired aft whole day at work, update the techs here at one shot, pls excuse me ah: STE: downtrend. It's broken the lower resistance i called on the STE thread. for whatever reason, it's being sold down heavily. But large lots bought up too. cross fire of the BBs. be careful. HH: real BB play. Did warn way earlier that it'd be volatile. By techs and FA, the dilution shd make the 'fair price' abt 95-99c. However, possibly supported by strong retail interest; BBs can only afford to throw down so many of their lots. Converting warrants already suggests they might have made a mistake earlier by throwing down too many. One key piece of info: Philips has margin on hh, the only brokerage to do so. I believe they're deliberately forcing out the margin players (who have the funds to buy more due to leverage). Fundamentals however, remain unchanged. Could look to buy if dips further. help required here: could anyone calculate what price does forced margin selling kick in assuming buy price is 1.07? StraitsA: aka Eastonbay's sweet potato find. haha. Not bad; pic is becoming clearer. Looks like big BBs trying to force out a smaller BB. but the smaller one is refusing to budge, and is supported by lots of small fries. hehe. Yesterday's low of 1.10 was the top end of the consol tech range, today's up. Earliest signs of bullishness, but let's wait and see. don't overstep the techs by pre-empting movement. but eastonbay should be crying less now eh? haha. hp....i want my hp....move up, StA!! *wave pom poms* muah hahaaaa! btw, singaporegal, would you mind if you could pls update your email addy to SJ? it bounced off leh... k all, nites! |
