Vard Secures Contract With Norwegian Buksér og Berging
One of the major global designers and shipbuilders of offshore and specialised vessels, Vard Holdings, has entered into a contract with Buksér og Berging for the construction of one Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) offshore tug vessel. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2015 from Vard Braila in Romania and will have a length of 42.5 meters with a beam of 15 meters and a bollard pull of approximately 115 tons. Roy Reite, chief executive officer and executive director of Vard, was pleased to welcome Vard’s new customer, Buksér og Berging, which is a market leader in providing specialised towage vessels for the marine, oil and gas industries. Just a couple of weeks ago, Vard signed the letter of intent for one platform supply vessel with Simon Møkster Shipping. Previously known as STX OSV, Vard’s adoption of a new name follows the sale of STX Europe’s majority stake in STX OSV to Italy’s Fincantieri Oil & Gas S.p.A in 23 January 2013.
Significance: Winning these shipbuilding contracts is testimony to Vard’s track record and strong experience in its long history in shipbuilding. Nonetheless, the shipping and shipbuilding markets’ outlook in 2013 remain cautious due to financing and overcapacity related issues.

The reversal had been confirmed with a strong price upward. This movement has strength as shown by the high volume. A strong close tomorrow will further support and sustain the upward price movement of VARD.
On a day when only the index stocks run while the overall market is weak, VARD performance validate its underlying fundamental. The worst is probably over and we look forward to Mr Market true valuation of this stöck. |

Excellent, on the reversal signal now ... excellent volume and moving away from 1.02 ... Cheers to VARD and all. I wish I got the money to buy in on the 30th April which was only 1.02 ...I guess we will never see such low level again ... Italian PM said to build the country back into confidence again. Good news, haha!

I must eat my own humble pie... no crow on Tuesday. the appearance of a small black candle with half the volume done on Monday may infer that selling pressure had ebbed. Thursday price action will be critical... lose 103, the dog is going to run away. drop and rebound below/above the day opening price, we will have a hammer and possibly a repeat of the 2011 candle pattern and may signal the reversal of the trend. Either way, dont hold your breath. The stock is still bearish and the industry outlook is dampened with the weak oil price. Hopefully there will be more projects win and increase in productivity at the Brazil/Romania/Vietnam yards to support the price.

Singapore, 30 April 2013 – Vard Holdings Limited (“VARD”), one of the major global designers and shipbuilders of offshore and specialized vessels, is pleased to announce that it has entered into a contract with Buksér og Berging for the construction of one Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) offshore tug vessel.

Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of VARD, Roy Reite, said, “We welcome our new customer Buksér og Berging to VARD, and we look forward to cooperating with their team. Our shipyard in Braila has a long shipbuilding tradition going back many decades. Building on this experience, certain types of vessels are being delivered fully outfitted from Vard Braila. The yard has delivered several tugs during the last few years, and our team in Braila is proud to have secured the new contract for Buksér og Berging.”
Buksér og Berging is a market leader in providing specialized towage vessels for the marine, oil and gas industries. The Norwegian based company aims to have a modern fleet ranging from AHTS to harbour tugs in order to provide marine services within ports and terminals, ocean towage, offshore work and complex marine operations. Buksér og Berging has 30 vessels in operation.
