0.87-0.90 is a vry gd buy wth vry limited further down side. Still remember going in 0.9x few yrs back after seeing dropping so much n yet still drop till blw 0.90......nt vested....gd luck to those vested.

Do not expect good result. You will be disappointed. Margin will be lower (thats almost for sure but expected). Brazil problems still not solved ? (hope for a positive surprise?). North Sea still slow (signs pointing to better times on 2nd half). May be a good dividend (4-5 c is expected). A contract from Fincantieri's customers (will definitely boost the share price!!). Oil price (not a problem for Vard, they have loyal customers...Brent to stay above 100). Brazil contracts (if win, a temporary boost...but as I mentioned earlier...Analysts expecting 11-13 billion contracts this year...So still far from there even with this PLSV contracts coming). So...Overall...a neutral call on Vard at this price. May be 2nd half we can see a better Vard.... Back to sleep.... Good Luck. |

There was an unknown buyer of a cable layer ship in October 2012 announcement. I just wonder if this is the same contract, the delivery time is almost the same. If it is a new contract, Vard should have announced it earlier than Tradewinds. Anyway, can't expect much from this counter for now.... Sleepy.... Good Luck. |

The new ship, which is designed to manage the installation and maintenance of all kinds of submarine cable, including fibre optic cable for the telecommunications sector or energy cables.The design of the vessel has been optimised to mreduce fuel consumption. The new unit will be equipped with a ROV which will enable the vessel to undertake surveys and inspections of the seabed and cut trenches to bury cable.Pierre de Fermat will have a length overall of 100.1m, breadth of 21.5m, loaded draft of 7.1m, maximum speed of 15.5 knots and a bollard pull of 80 tonnes. The vessel will have 4 x 2250 kWe & 1 x 715 kWe engines in a diesel-electric arrangement and accommodation for 80. It will have a deadweight of 4,000 tonnes, and be able to carry 2,300 tonnes of cable. It will be classed by Bureau Veritas ICE-IC AUT-IMS DP2.
