@student and gorgeousong - I already acknowledged the fact that student is a punter aka gambler and decided to rest my case. However the incessant rantings from the 2 of you proves how  free and insecure  both of you are. Especially to student, if your strategy of investing or betting based on purely technical analysis works for you, then you need not keep reiterating your stance here unless you feel insecure and you need people to agree with you. I wish you all the best in your endeavours (no sarcasm). And for Mr/Mrs/Mdm/Miss gorgeousong, you have revealed too much of your personal details here like how you much you lose (or how rich you are), how you rely only on people for what to invest and when to buy/sell, and of course, how " blessed" you are to have an Italian boyfriend for advice on the direction of STX OSV/ VARD just because he is an Italian. If by now you still don't realise how silly or insecure you sound, you are probably too caught up in seeking attention. If what I mentioned is not true, you can always treat my posts as incessant ramblings as well. Cheers! | ||||

Anyway, whether one wins or loses money is one's own responsibilty. Can't blame anyone else. Also, don't even blame yourself. Because it is hard to overcome human nature, eg averaging down. I never average down.

Fully agreed with your views.I think in other threads some forumners also make the same comments. @Stormer, if student really shorted this counter. His integrity will be at stake in this forum. For the last few posts, he had stated that he had no interest in playing this counter n did not long or short at all.

There is nothing profound at all about that. It simply means when one is trading with reference to the chart/s, one has to ignore everything else and concentrate only on the chart. But often, human nature makes it difficult to do that.

Haha don't know if Student shorted la, but  SFGuyRuleZ I support you too. Thing is, if you made a good call and you want to let everyone know, then fair enough. But if you keep on repeating and repeating it, it feels like you are rubbing it in our faces after a while.   I think most of us here can recognise and appreciate honest advice backed with good intentions.    Cheers

To a purely technical trader, there's no reason necessary for any stock to rise or fall. One who trades strictly by chart reckoning knows nothing about reaosns, feeling, etc. A technical trader bets simply by reference to price action alone. To ask a technical trader for explanations is futile. as he/she may know no explanation.

I am not here to debate with you nor discuss with you forum etiquette as I do not have the time also. If you think about many of the comments you posted, not just in this STX OSV forum but others as well, how many of your posts are really beneficial to investors? All I read were about feelings of yours to particular stocks and how they will sink,etc... I do like some posts commented by you which states that investor emotions determine market movement alot, which I agree to a very large extent also. Other than this, most of your posts contain negative attacks about how bad a stock fares, how low it will sink, etc... without even stating your explanation but merely just say what you wanted to say. And in any case, my intention is not to " flame" you or to argue with you, but merely out of goodwill that you should not say certain things. Once in a while I know we can be emotional in our postings about the movement of certain stocks, but definitely is not alright to do it all the time, worse when not substantiated with explanation or facts.

Precisely that's why we should never attempt to be God or the market mover. Let the market decide their reaction with respect to the news itself. As I mentioned before that stock investing and buying shares can be very personal and sensitive, we should be as unbiased as possible in our posts, so only then the traders/investors and market can make the most right decision for themselves and in their best interests.

Contributing news may also not be a good thing too. This is because no one knows how the market will respond to the news. On the other hand, it may be very useful for players (both investors and traders) to know all alternative views, contray or otherwise, wherever they may find them. |

@student - Please take note that majority of people who are reading this forum do have shares in STX OSV or Vard, and it doesn't do you or us any good to spread your PERSONAL thoughts or emotions about the stock. Whether fundamental analysis or technical analysis, I am sure most investors are able to do their own and come out with their own judgement. Stock investing and buying shares as it involves money and foresight can be a very personal and sensitive issue as people have different opinions on what and why they buy - covering factors like timing, time horizon, value, volume, price, capital gain, dividend yield,etc... Unless you have some news to contribute or something CONCRETE to say, it would be better if you reserve your comments to yourself. |

Now I see quality conversations here. Not like last few months when there were so many jokes around. It looks like the smart people are still interested in this stock (by still talking in this chat room)... and the speculators are gone??? Technically the stock looks awful...agree. The only bright spot is volume not high on the breakdown of 1.22..... One thing that I know for sure...All the Board of directors will be in the AGM incl the new Italian directors. STX OSV boards been telling us about the slowdown in orders on certain types of OSVs, problems in Brazil, lower capacity usage in Norway (not Romania) if I am not wrong. All these are known. What I want to hear is whether Fincantieri can do any benefits for Vard, also What they want to do with Vard....at least the CEO must say something... Are they just going to be the passive investor (I doubt cause we will see at least 2 Italian directors incl the CEO of Fincantieri tomorrow).  This AGM will not cause any big movement in Vard.   Its only a formality. The stock already broke down...So it will need new contracts, problem solving in Brazil, industry recovery (PSVs, AHTSs), and a bit of momentum....to go back to 1.22 and hopefully upwards.  But it is a value stock. By the time all mentioned above is in the news, the stock probably already in the 1.50s..  I hope I am right. I am not a very good timer of market. So...I keep my fingers crossed...  Good Luck.    |
