Some here like to add a bit of spicing and blachan 'nonsense' to brighten up an otherwise boring trading day of waiting and waiting. Lol.  |

Kindly do not get offended with my post. I am stating it in general to anyone or everyone who is reading or planning to post. And kindly understand what is the meaning of nonsensical  and emotional post along with posting in English for the benefit of everyone. I can extract out a few examples but i do not want to offend the users.  P.S. nonsensical  or emotional post do not  relate  with possibility at all and neither did anyone claim it does thus i do not know how it co exist as quoted below.. " Possibilities are not emotion-based bias, not at all."   Thanks and no offence. Let's stick to the main topic and decide individually when to buy and sell without influencing others. Cheers  |

Yes sifu is so right. Also consider all possibility/probability of unknown fundamentals too. It is best to " mau" oneself, rather than confidently urging others to buy or sell.

In addition to possibilities, need to also factor in probability/likelihood. Strike toto, end of the world, Singapore in the world cup are all possibilities.. |

Possibilities are not emotion-based bias, not at all. On the contrary, great optimism is often largely emotion-based. |

I believe in the possibility. Question is at what price. Certainly not at 1.22 or 1.00

Hi Guys, Let's stick to insightful post rather then  nonsensical  posting or non evidence-base emotional bias remarks. And if possible, stick to English as it would be advantageous for every user reading this thread. Cheers )  |

Firstly, Fincantieri is owned by the It gov, but it is not the It gov itself. Just like the Singapore govt is a different entity from Capitaland, Keppel, etc. And giving dividend is not about being generous to the public. If dividend is declared, Fincantieri is the one getting the most dividend as they hold the most shares. If I am Fincantieri and need money, all the more I will declare dividends. If not, the cash will be remain in VARD's books.   At 1.22, less than 5% took up the offer, for which around 4% was by OZ who is looking to exit. Which means excluding OZ, less than 1% took up the 1.22 offer. At 1.00 how many do you think will take up the offer? Making a GO involve engaging professionals which is not cheap. Why would anyone make a unrealistic offer and incur expenses for it?

If the co is very lucrative, will the It gov want to give dividends to the public at all? What if say one year later they make another GO at 1.00  ?   |

Authority to issue share is a common agenda for listed company's AGM. It gives the company the authority to issue shares, but doesn't mean that it will be issuing.  There won't be anymore dividends for FY2012. They have already paid out about 70+% of earnings as dividends for FY2012. Future dividends will need to come from FY2013's earnings and also dependent on whether there is a change in dividend policy now that key shareholder has changed.
