Some explanation can be found here The reason why MIDAS has very high  historical  PE is because of   her significant earning drops in 2012 mainly attributed from the after effect of the 2011 Shanghai train accident. Moving forward why  institutional  players or any value investors are willing to peg MIDAS at higher target price is their confidence in the company' turnaround stories: the China government's resolution to revamp the past corrupted transport ministry and MIDAS execution ability of new contracts. The key thing is do you believe these growth stories?  Besides, I  personally  find MIDAS one of the few rare s-chip that has exhibited better corporate  governance  compared to a lot of listed Singapore companies in SGX.  I'm vested for sure and I will be honest to admit that.

If one think differently from others, there is no need to demean others of their ideas.. There is no right or wrong answer, losers or winners.. Only those that have their pocket full when dividends are paid and/or when one can perceived the right time to buy and sell are the real winners. So why argue about who's right or wrong? Ultimately cheongsl is here to share on his research base on facts and figures. We decide what we plan to do with it. Only children argue and flame in forums. IMHO Cheongsl did a very good job in laying out facts and figures for the public.   Anyway from my point of view, the shareholders are undergoing a pump and dump,   for example similar  situation to WE holdings.  And always remember analysts are paid to give opinion(good normally) for a company share. Self research on the company along with reading forums and blogs for second opinion such as credible  figures  that cheongsl had posted will be crucial in individual choices and opinion for that certain counter they are interested in.

But for those courses outside, I don't really recomment as they are just asking for big money from those that attend, to me their main interest is to earn big bugs from training then trading, in others words it is more economic for them to train then trade, you know what I mean. Monday, 11 March, 2013   1:44 PM Posted by Kevin Scully China's new Government under President Xi Jinping has announced a major overhaul of China's railway bureaucracy with the closure of the once powerful but corrupt Railway Ministry.   Over the weekend, China announced that it was scrapping its Raiway Ministry and folding its functions into the Transport Ministry.   It would also be creating the Railways Corporation of China to run China's railway system.   Nobody knows the impact of this change but we can speculate. Looking carefully at the split - it would appear that the Chinese Government would continue to make macro decisions about China's public sector transport system.   I would imagine that the Transport Ministry would endorse the Government's railway roll out plan which has been articulated and set aside monies for the execution of the plan.   The Transport Ministry will hopefully be more efficient and re-start the hi-speed railway network program which was frozen since November 2011. The second more interesting element is that the new Railways Corporation of China will be a commercially driven and bent on making profit and at the same time providing an affordable, safe and efficient public transport system.   I am hoping that the new Railways Corporation of China being profit driven needs to quickly roll out trains as and when the tracks and infrastructure are completed. I am therefore neutral to positive about the revamp of the China Railway Ministry - the main rationale for recommending Midas remains.   Firstly, China needs and efficient and extensive railway network system to integrate the development of China.   The freezing of hi-speed rail contracts since November 2011 has led to targets being short by 30% to 40%.   I was hoping that the new Chinese Government under Xi Jinping would kick start the process.   I believe this revamp is the precursor of the roll out of such contracts.   Once completed - the new hopefully more streamlined and profit driven Railways Corporation of China will kick start the issue of contracts.   There is little downside to Midas as contracts have already been frozen since November 2011 but Midas has in 2013 alone secured through its associate two contracts worth more than RMB1bn. There is therefore no change in my recommendation on Midas which remains a Stock Pick.
