Hikitty I have been reading ur interesting posts.And i read that star cruise has been at this px for 7 years? Do i read correctly?Please advise. If that is the case,then 7 years itch is coming. Cheers |

Let's say, for reasoning's sake, if you are a Big Boy ($$$ funds) and you know that there will definitely be many retailers and mass players who will be selling (ie.technical action), would you not take advantage of the better prices rather than impatiently jumping in? If Big Boys just jump in without thinking of this phenomenon, then the chart pattern will always be a straight line vertically up... :) |

Star Cruise bet on the Macau casino is the only way out as it has sunk really deeeep into RED. Without Macau casino, Star Cruise is a hopeless. Let's hope they put their act together again. |

I don't think cashiertan is encouraging or discouraging anyone to invest in US$ counters. He merely sent a gentle reminders to all. He invests in DJ and therefore he knows exchange risk well. exchange risk is very 'real'. Well, for someone who buys it with US$, there is no risk to them, so there are always buyers for US denominated counter because they pay in US$. To those self proclaimed newbies: every 1% drop in US$ against S$, you already lost that 1% even if that counter holds its price. So, if you bought this counter when the exchange is $1.53 = US$1, and you sell when $1.49=US$1, and it costs you say US$1000 to buy x shares, ie you paid S$1530. You are only going to get back S$1490 even if the shr px remains. You lost $40 thru xchange, and you need that to be covered by shr px appreciation. Of course it can work the other way when US$ appreciates against S$. It is not going to happen anytime soon, i think. (as previously, I hope to see this one fly cos am vested. However, I am open to people talking up or down this counter as long as their view is objective and you can learn something from it) |
