For stories/myths, I still prefer "Ba Hsien Guo Hai" (8 Immortals Crossing the Oceon) anytime..., though this is not to say that I disregard the other more "snobbish" works. But a brief synopsis of these will do for me, since I don't really go for the flavour but the essence of it. "Ba Hsien", being Taoist in nature, is sufficient for one to appreciate the essentials sufficiently as it embodies principles that are universal. |

Hi, Lausk22, I think I have to differ from you... I find Moulin Rouge & Crazy Horse is only worth but a cursory look, only just because it has been widely known. Instead I preferred walking up And I would walk the River Seine, take the Metro to Chatou to have lunch at Maison Fournaise overlooking the river on the island where Monet used to gather his ideas, and where Renoir painted his famous lunch scene?Déjeuner des Canotiers Luncheon of the Boating Party |

For a more holistic travelogue after delving in scenic spots, historic and religious sites, food paradise, manicured gardens, cultural entertainments, it would be incomplete if one does not savour the Sin Cityscapes... If one finds Crazy Horse too expensive in Paris and Singapore, he can try the one at Istanbul ...Cheaper and well more erotica:)). Or try to savour as erotic but not so RA, have dinner at one of the finer restaurants where belly dancers amuse you with whirling tummies while u dine. Or have a free walking tour along the famous or infamous Red Light District in Amsterdam, where women freely displaying their assets in the oldest profession of the world :))) Of course for more professional entertainments, the Crazy Horse and Moulin Rouge at gay Paris are still top in my tour list if I visit the beautiful and romantic city, where lovers just stop in the middle of the street and lock themselves in long lasting kissess:))) |

Woaa.. btw, re food in Oh yes, Sporegal... actually I don't hear of tourists to Jerusalem being shot at or blown up leh.... ke ke... perhaps because not many pple going there the hotel rates may be cheaper... but as I note you like spas, I remembered they have very good spas by the Dead Sea.(btw the lowest point on Earth)... the black mud from the shores of Dead Sea is very good for the skin, cure for psoriasis etc etc..and you can experience swimming or rather floating in the Dead Sea....and nearby is En Gedi (the oasis where David hid while running away from King Saul some 3000 years ago... ) and of cos Masada.. the national icon of |

Visited Jerusalem in 2001 before 911.Traced the route taken by Christ to his place of cruxification and stand beside his tomb which is still divided into parts, on one side guard by the Jewish priests and on the other by the Egytians. Yes, a very memorable trip indeed. If u want a safer destination can visit Prague to Czech it out. Visit the City Square and Charles Bridge. Or Vienna to take a boat ride down the Blue Danube, visit the Palace where they film the Sound of Music and attend a concert where famous orchestras replay the Classicals from all the famous composers like Schumann, Handel, and Mozart, etc, etc. Or visit the Grand Bazaar at Istanbul after a ride down the Bosphorus Straits. Visit the Blue Mosque and the Church Sofia beside it. Then don't miss Cappadocia, where the ancient Christians stayed in caves on mountain sides and few storeys underground to escape persecutions. This is one of my most unforgettable tours........ |

Hi Sporegal, I went to India in early 2006 on a 7 days customised packaged tour that covered the Rajesthan region. I've visited the Taj at Agra, rode on an elephant up the Agra fort, went to an abandoned fort Fatehpur Srikri with lovely architectural, visited Jaipur the pink city, saw the fort and water pavillons in the Richard Gere Mastercard Ad, went to Jodphur the blue city, took a nite train to Jaisalmer the gold city ( close to desert ) and rode a camel on a sand dune. Not your typical holiday, but if u like architectural stuff and a bit of adventure, India will not fail to deliver. U will marvel at the degree of intricate details of their forts and castles. As for hotels, i've stayed at heritage hotels which are just marvellous and lovely as the touristic sites. I hope u like Indian food cos after 1 week of Indian food, i was craving for some western food and ordered spagetti, but the sauce was so sweet, i regretted it! Definitely not cheap but well worth the experience. Will i go to India again? Definitely !!! ... my next trip to India is likely to kerala, most of my Indian colleagues rave to me about the place where u stay in a boat house and lovely scenery. Must see it for myself! |

Yes! I've always wanted to visit Jerusalem and go to all those historical places you mentioned. It's supposed to be the holiest city in the world for the Jews, Christians and the Muslims. Unfortunately in the past decade, the middle east crisis has been a major turn-off for me. I want to come back in one piece! |

btw, Sporegal... as you like to visit historic sites particularly buildings of worship, I think you must not miss Jerusalem, and see the Al-Aqsa Mosque area.. it is build right on top of the Temple (on the Mount) i.e below is the wailing wall where the Jews go to worship, it is the Mount (Moriah) where Abraham was about to sacrifice his son Isaac (or Ismail , according to the Muslims)... and for Christians, particular later today is the place where Jesus Christ is being flogged and will be nailed to a cross tomorrow... |

oh, Sporegal, if I remembered well, our Little India is certainly much more tidy... anyway do have a good holiday in Vietnam, tell us about it when you come back.... dear Sporeguy, oh, timing not good, what dates would suit you? Actually I note that the Battle of ChiBi was in 208AD... so coincidently 2008 seem a rather good year to do the tour... |

Hi iPunter, Yup... I know about Bodhi trees. I'm a culture-vulture. I find religions of all sorts interesting and enjoy reading about Buddhism, Islam, Christianity etc... Because religion ties in very closely to the culture of a country, by finding out more about a culture's religion, I can better understand its people and appreciate their history. I have visited great temples, mosques and cathedrals around the world with the same wide-eyed wonderment. |

Hi bunbun, Your description of India sounds like our very own little India in Singapore! Hehehe... nah, I'm no backpacker. My idea of a holiday is one where I relax and get pampered at a spa. Vietnam sounds good! I have friends who have been there as well and gave a big thumbs up! Anyway, I'm also off for a short holiday break for this long weekend! Yay! Will check back into SJ when I can. |

STI 3rd wavelet could reach 3378, if supported at 3183, its 5th wavelet could reach 3508. |

hi Eastonbay, thanks for your response... yes the more I think about it the more I like the idea... lets wait for some more responses from others, if not we can still go too albeit pay a bit more ... my dates are flexible... but to be sure we dont travel at the time when whole of China is on the move like week of early Oct, or Spring festival... then we should avoid the July, August which may be too warm ...I think winter in Changjiang area should be ok... in any case we may time it at around the same period of the battle i.e in November? Meanwhile we do some research... I thot we wait till we see the film because it would then make it even more memoriable.? But really I am flexy... but it should be 2008 as I am solid booked for 2007 in terms of travels... |

cead mille (100,000) thank yous Elfinchilde... no I dont really need the cash... it is just that I am sensing a major correction in the STI... the record 3500 is simply unbelievable..particularly with DOW 20% below peak... i rather liquidate to standby for bargains when it does go down... but I guess with a stock like STE & SPC, they are ever greens man in the face of adversity no harm keeping some in case STI stays up... have a great holiday...elf.. bon voyage |

btw, resistance and target prices shd be taken as guidelines only and not as fixed points....you run the risk of not being able to react fast enough if you keep insisting mentally on concrete targets. must be more fluid. buy when trend says buy, sell when trend says sell. tata! |

fast one: chinkiasu, re: STE: Firstly and most importantly, you need to make up your own mind and your own decision. elf's choices might not be yours ah, so keep in mind. But if me: i sell only if signal reads sell, or if i see something with better upside. STE is not reading sell. Qn then: do you need the cash, or are you eyeing some other counter? If not, ride it out. note very strong resistance at 3.5 tho. is there any warrants at that strike px that why control there? alt, there's a brokerage house that gave full value rating to STE at 3.5. didn't see sense of it tho, since previous rating was $3.99, and since that first report, STE had act reported increase in contracts. it's gonna be volatile. aside, stamford land chionged today. muack muack. that's all folks, elf away on hols for the weekend. hold on to your dollars! keke. |

If I ever go to India, the first thing I'd want to see is not Aiswarya Rai, but a live performance of the Indian Rope Trick, complete with the scary boy scene |

Yup... To get enough of the rarified goodness of the Swiss Alps, one would need at least a month of free time... :) India... Perhaps those well-versed in Paul Brunton (A search In Secret India) will relish India more than anyone else. |
