I cannot seems to find any good local sites making regular contributions on a daily basis for local counters. But if you are trading US counters, maybe you can take a look over at inthemoneystocks.com. I like their free youtube clips (posted almost daily and usually 10 minutes in length) that teaches you charting (support, resistance points) based on their own methodology which is easy to understand. Of course you will need a monthly subscription to excess more information. PS: I am not in anyway linked to them but used to be a subscriber myself to their services.   |

When your target is hit, don't run immediately.  For me, I will take half of the positions off the table (realized some profits first) and re-evaluate the remaining position for any potential to go higher. Anyway, I dun't like to go Casino, most of the time lose money (buy genting or las vegas sands better).  :p

but if going for short term, than better go for more conservative cut lost approach...... Bc it doesn't mean u jump to another ship, u will definately win bk....... Strategy counts......N remember to look into your stock FA when vested. Try not to vest in stock just based on TA.....dangerous.... As when they go down, they may not go bk up again. |

Hi jcho1962, This is my personal view. Whenever I enters a trade, I will have a target price to take profit and also a cut-loss price in mind if it goes against my trade. It is always important to protect your capital. Never hold onto a position for too long if the play has gone against you. A paper loss is a loss, anyway you look at it. I will cut-loss for better sleep.    For blue chip, this is normally what I do. 10% loss: Re-evaluate the situation to check if price has hit a bottom, if it has not then trimmed down at least 50% of your position. 15% loss:   Cut all positions immediately, no point holding onto something that everyone is dumping. Re-evaluation of the same counter can be done after a couple of weeks when selling pressure subsides.    If i were in your situation, I will not average down a losing trade. I learn the hard way during the 2008 financial crisis by averaging down and incurred even more loses in the process when I could have easily recovered losses by going short.

but of course the up may not be alot as there is still dilution in the earning per share. But that maybe temporary, as partial of the money got from the subsidary of indo that is to be listed in Indonesia stock exchange is to be used for indo expansion plan. And when that succeed, the earning per share will increase ....

wishbone is right also. N i hope he is using his spare cash. If not he will be ganchio...in making decision. There is reason why i say average down as his price is quite high.......... For indo to hit that high price, maybe next year still got chance lah....this year i doubt so. But of course some may say cut lost here n find other profitable counter to earn back. But that is also a gamble. Anyway the decision is up to him. BTW indo pricing is very dependent on the pricing of the subsidary of indo that is to be listed in Indonesia stock exchange. That is the trigger pt. If its pricing is high, than there is a possibility indo will go up bk. Thus let see how its go.

I reckon the most important thing here is he must know what he is doing and the consequences of his action in the end. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
