Even before CEC decide, he jump the gun lor. Is the post of NCMP so important as a reward ? I can only say.......short sighted..... BTW, if you go to wiki on WP. You will know there are many unnamed hero......Not even ring a bell. This is really chicken feet comparing to what is happening at PAP. No stone should be left unturned.......we may even have to relook at Dr Chee after this election. Really.

For me. I see result and also beginning to see a tiny crack in it WP strong armour where Eric Tan, party treasury and ex-co member who lead East Coast GRC, on NCMP matter had become a casualty and resign from WP, after putting in so much hardwork.

Extremely " WISE" move by SM MM to leave before question time by WP 'A' Team. Some people can con 'naive' Singaporean all the time - but when WP Chen Show Mao starts probing in Parliament they have no answers to give esp. why @age 55 certain Minstera can enjoy pensions while still in office vs. 'naive' singaporean whose own money are still withheld by cpf beyond age 62 (or 65 now). | ||||

Since It annoucement. Both MM Lee and SM Goh can still play a special role as special envoy to China/U.S. and to middle East/E.U. Those who are in their mid 50-60 will play an active role or those even pass 60 yo will now have to play a back seat role, and like DMP Wong kan Seng 64(+5=69), Mah Bow Tan 62(+5=67) who will be five years older. Those who are at 50 and below, like Heng Swee Keat-50, BG Tan Chuan Jin-42 will be holding offical post as Senior MOS, Foo Mee Har 45, Sim Ann 36 and many others from 23 elected candidates. Woman leadership will fall into candidates like Grace Fu 47 and Dr Amy Khor 53 and many not mentioned here. |

MM is 87 and SM is 70 this year.
Relatively speaking, when they said allow cabinet to have a clean slate of " younger" leaders, it means any one minister younger than them MM/SM, less than 70 years of age, 55/60/65 still can do. So a new benchmark of age limit has been set now, no more than 70 years old leaders in cabinet… now who is next in line to reach 70 soon ???

Chen " trained" in China, then has to be watched tightly too. It's healthy that SM steps down while he is still alive so that people will not have sudden panic of sudden loss of the head of the country since '65. Has anyone here written to LSL-PM in facebook. Are you afraid being tracked??? If I have a chance, I would like to ask why are single not allegable for the new HDB flat. see, the society has changed, a group of new-wed couples decided not to have babies and some rear the dog or cat instead of Baby. So thinking the pro family concept is obsolate. Since they are non productinve, they are as hopeless as single to increase the nos. of population. and if Singles are allowed to buy new launched HDB, the demand for the resale will drop thus stablise the prices of HDB flats. Of course, rules apply like those who have pte properties , or ever made big pile of money during this 8 to 10 years are rich enough and not allowed to buy, as HDB is meant to be for the poor. It's annoying to see one having a landed(live in there) and rented out it's condo and HDB flat....this guy should be asked to get rid of the HDB. |

At my constituency, the RC and CC are makeup of retirees, small time businessman dealing with construction, transport and etc. I can see that they do not have the intellectual skill to listen and gather feedback.They only know how to organise karaoke singing contest with poor sound system, boost up all the treble and bass control to the maximum until the tweeters and woofers are blown off. Hahahah |

WP Eric Tan claims quits because of.......TODAY: With an eye on the next General Election (GE), the Workers' Party's (WP) top leadership made a strategic decision late Thursday night to select a younger member for its second Non-Constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP) seat. Unfortunately, the move prompted veteran central executive committee member and party treasurer Eric Tan to quit. In an exclusive interview with Today late Thursday night, as he drafted a statement for the media, he said: " I feel betrayed." The Thursday night meeting at Hougang Town Council saw the WP's central executive committee vote to hand the second NCMP seat to the party's assistant webmaster, 34-year-old Gerald Giam. Mr Tan, a former banker who is now a private equity fund manager, said: " I am disappointed that Low (Thia Khiang) and part of the CEC have decided to go against the people's wishes, citing party renewal as their reason. " I too, also believe in the renewal of the party but in an orderly manner, with succession plans. But not like this, dropped like a bomb." Mr Tan added: " I have helped build the East Coast team since 2005 and was the only one remaining after the 2006 election. I fought on and rebuilt the team, helping to gain a solid result for the party," he said. Mr Tan is also understood to have played a role in attracting corporate lawyer Chen Show Mao and Mr Yee to join the party. Hard to transform. Bulk of grassroots are not from intellectuals so feedbacks are normally very subliminal, not even touching the surface of real problems. Only in elections will PAP detect ground dissents which are always very real issues. Ah mahs and ah kongs in the RCs don't have much feedbacks to give, members of CCCs and CCMs mostly keep fellowship amongst themselves. Here I am giving everyone real feedbacks, and hope it is useful. | ||||
