DBS Group Research Genting’s 1Q11 above our expectation but in-line with consensus, driven by higher VIP win rate. We raise our 2011- 12F earnings by 7-9% to factor in stronger-than-expected ramp-up (eg recent addition of 115 electronic table games). Upcoming catalysts: a) Opening of two new rides at Universal Studios b) Phased-completion of Western Zone (Maritime Museum launching in 2H11) and c) Potential approval of junkets. Genting Singapore: Maintain BUY with S$2.53 fair value Summary: Genting Singapore (GS) made a good start to 2011.
Revenue for 1Q11 saw a 166.3% YoY (+17.0% QoQ) increase to S$922.6m net profit surged 312.6% YoY (also up 233.3% QoQ) to S$305.4m. According to management, the IR (integrated resort) delivered its highest quarterly adjusted EBITDA of S$537.9m, with margin of 59%.
Going forward, GS believes that it will continue to do well in the Year of the Rabbit, with strong visitorship in both VIP and mass segments it also reveals that it will continue to focus on the overseas premium segment and will not pursue the local mass market. With 1Q11 results meeting some 19.5% and 23.2% of our full-year revenue and core earnings estimates respectively, we do not see the need to make any adjustments at this stage. As such, our DCF-based fair value also remains at $2.53. Maintain BUY. (Carey Wong)

Genting Singapore scores with high rollers STELLA LEE
The group yesterday reported a net profit of S$305.4 million for the three months ended March 31, turning around from the S$396.3 million net loss in the year-ago period. This was also an improvement from the S$150.3 million loss in the previous quarter. Genting said it “experienced good win percentage and gaming volume in the first quarter of this year with steady growth in Universal Studio Singapore and the hotels.” SINGAPORE — Integrated resort operator Genting Singapore has returned to the black in the first quarter, thanks to high-rolling gamblers at its casino and record numbers of overseas visitors to its Universal Studios. |

Hey, last we have in 23 Feb sell down and 15 Mar japan earthquake compare to today ... within two hours, the volume is even higher than these two days. Are we having a sell down for no reason? or something that we don't know? Wake up people. |

if genting report last few quarters, price still around $2.15 average. now results good still $2.10+. dont u think BB are playing with our mind? anyway, i hope it will still drop till 1.98 then i can buy again.

yea. this is the first quarter that genting is without all the extra " noises" in the past like disposal loss etc etc.. dont do panic selling unless you are quick eonugh to buy back before it rebounces, else just hold and wait for BB to buy back all those they sold.
