chipchip... How many Asam Laksa stalls have you tried so far? I have tried quite a number, but most don't seem to live up to the 'original, dish. The one at York Hotel is okay. But I prefer to have only the Asam Laksa and not the whole range of Penang hawker food. |

iPunter, you can try out and see if it is good. Eating is also relative, to me is nice but to others maybe not. If nice then, you must buy me a beer! |

yes, good food is an enjoyment too! Around my area, there is a hawker centre next to Boon Lay Shopping centre that sells nasi lemak. Cheap and tasty. Then, there is a kway teow teung stall that makes me travel all the way to Marsiling just to eat it. Can't remember the HDB block. Then, there is also a hawker centre nect to Jurong East Swimming complex that sells Penang Laksa. Not bad as the you dont find much Penang laksa stalls around. I will move house again in June, just waiting to buy something near where i am staying. Oh yea, do u know where to buy good and cheap durians?? Dont seem to have any here. |

oh yea, i'm a foodie. restaurant or hawker centre doesn't matter; it's the quality of the food and company. :) what ya like to eat? let's compare notes....hehe. no particular favourites. I like tomoe (in the north) for japanese, and the or luak and hokkien mee at telok kurau/east coast road there (dunno address; no sense of direction--it's close to alfono's). the chye tau kwei at jago close is good too. yumyum. the everitt road mee pok. char kwei teo at bras basah there. the one with a lot of veggies and little fishies. it's the same place that sells the ah-ballings. fine dining: keyaki for japanese; jiangnan chun or jade for chinese. oh, and seafood. i absolutely adore seafood. barbecued sotongs with sambal lime belacan, black pepper crab (Little Red House not bad), lalas with ginger, coriander and white wine (no: 3 at outram road). drunken prawns stewed in shao xing jiu....ooohhhhh...... sigh. see lah. now i'm hungry. haha. shifting house yet? :P |

wah elf also like to eat Singfood. Dont talk me into moving house leh, I have been moving house 3 times in 4 years! So can tell me which is yr fav makan place? Very difficult to find yummy food in the west. |

yahyah, why do you think i said i love the sea? go to the beach very often. gotta love the sun, sand, sea! :))) altho rainy season now, sian...i'm one frozen elf. well, at least my strawberry plant is happy. hmph. heehee, and it's not only the beach, we got the food too! or luak, hokkien mee, peranakan, lagoon seafood centre, ta mee pok, rojak, sambal cuttlefish kangkong....and geylang for the frog's leg porridge and tau huay! of course the guys go for another kind of huay. :P the only thing i like abt the west is the egrets there.. o/w, much prefer the east. :) and ya, easier said than done. so must try best! (of course, being san ba now and then is extremely therapeutic. *claws out* haha. ) |

wow, east people so lucky can go east coast park while west people like me can only go Vivocity and liao lui!!! U r rite, i mean simple as in simple living, simple giving, and simply forgiving. Of course easier said than done hor? |

yah, but let's note here that simple does not equate stupid. it means knowing, and deliberately choosing your own path. chipchip, can't lah....*wasted*, i live on the other side of the island. sian....a lompang to work would be good man; then wouldn't havta wake up so early every morning. sigh. |

hey, the chip's here! :)))) yep. actually i spend most of my money on my mum and sis. may i note here that mothers and sisters are expensive to maintain as they require occasional diamonds. haha. elves on the other hand are very easy to keep. no need big house/car/diamond/ branded clothes. just flowers and mousies and lots of space. whee! haha. oh and holidays too. love to travel. :)))) that's not to say i don't appreciate the finer things in life tho. after all, i don't believe in being stingy on yourself. but i think there should be a limit. Rather a beer lifestyle on a champagne budget than the other way around. change smaller car lah! i calculated before already. you can take a lifetime of taxis here and it's still cheaper than owning a firsthand car. so elf will not own a car. (apart from the no sense of direction thing). not unless of course i get a chaffeur. hm...any volunteers? i'm willing to pay in the form of stock tips. keke. yep, money is the means to an end. which is why, always be its master and not its slave. |

hi Elfy, looks like you are happy as it is and does not need more money to pamper yrself. Money is a means to an end right? For me, my worst liability is my car which needs $800 a month with the likes of petrol, ERP, car instalments..... Making money in the stock market would definitely help to cut down my costs of owning a car! |

ok. mebbe i'm an odd child. but even if i can afford the BM or merc, i wouldn't buy one anyway. it's just a car to me. and cars are not worth in s'pore leh. would rather invest the money in property. at least that appreciates in value. but then again, you're talking to someone with absolutely no sense of direction....i'd just waste petrol getting lost. ..and you'd see periodic profit spikes in SPC. haha. hm. cars...think the volkswagen beetle is damn cute tho. i'd dress mine up as a real lady bug! Red and black spots, with feelers and all. heehee. the authorities would never allow me on the road. haha. |

Agree leh.... I have friends who spend 50% of their salary paying for that new BMW. They then scrimp and save and forgo restaurant meals or movies!! Amazing..... |
