Sporegal & elf seem to be in the same category, only invest in counters of constantly above1000 lots daily. Have you tried those shares which trade around a few hundreds lot daily (good for accumulation) and suddenly ten thousands lots daily for 2 to 3 days (good for selling) and then goes to sleep for a few weeks or a few months (accumulate again) and suddenly awaken (good for selling again) ? |

i dont think the result will be superb. remember the last time, their result was bad because of the drop in the USD currency. Now that the dollar is lowering, it may be worst. just my personal judgement. Chart dont look too promising. Double head.. |

hey yongjiu....belated response (sorry, too many posts, missed some): A=ask, B=bid, X=cancelled/delayed (for whatever reason). Do you happen to have the entire last 4-530pm trade vol summary, as per the post above? if you do, could you pls paste it up? something's happening with this counter; trying to figure out what. |

hmm. singaporegal, wouldn't it be better for the daily volume to consist of a variety of transactions sizes instead of a majority of large trades. cos the latter might point to possible mkt manipulation. iPunter, i noticed that u always have links to books on Amazon.com. Are u having to tie-up with them? |

Hi giantlow, That's a very good and astute question. If the majority of the volumes are due to a minority of the players, then TA would not work very well on that stock. This is where its important that a stock must CONSISTENTLY have high volume. It is hard to imagine that a minority of players would trade the majority of shares on a daily basis. |

so this 1000 lots thingy is more of a psychological figure for TA rather then based on some studies? also, if the constantly high volumes are made up of mainly a few large transactions eg. 3 transaction sizes of 400 lots each. Or the transactions are more spread out in a variety of transactions sizes. wld it make any diff in the analysis? The 1st part of the question is similar to asking why are test scores usually upon 100marks. Who is the person who choose 100 marks as the max & 50 marks as the passing. Why did he chose it? |

Hi giantlow, You're so tall yet your font so small! Hehe... :) Regarding your question on volume... my rule of thumb is that a good volume counter is one that has at least 1000 lots traded daily. It has to be CONSISTENTLY above that value. If its very high one day and then lacklustre the next, its not much use to TA people. |

ooh...the divvy sounds good. am actually watching this counter. not yet tho, still can go down a bit more. giantlow: vol, i take ave min of 1mil per day. And the vols have to be consistent. No sudden spikes or dips (i'm faint hearted haha). You can do comparative amongst the blue chips. abt same price value should have same vols. yea, lots of small lots =>retail investors. big lots=>funds. jackjames. haha, i see you have experience following your fiance/wife into the frenzy of shopping. haha. |

I as well decide to vest this counter at first for long term, but now, I made the decision on CSC, actually Koh Bros I also intrested, but the price shoot up too high already. I am sure after a year, CSC long term returns is MUCH higher than SPC. That is a sure thing. Cheers. HGMetal is the next baby we should look at it.. Look at those giashu singaporean queuing up for one shenton condo, its like buying ZARA cloths during the SALEs.. walau.. .. |

It is quite possible for this stock to give one more spurt down at high volume, just like it did in the last session, before the actual reversal of the trend begins for the long-term struggle upward in 2007. mirage, From FA point of view, I estimate FY 06 eps will come in at about 59cts. Based on this estimate and historical divident payouts, FY06 divident will be about 20cts per share..tax free. |

hey elf and singaporegal, how do u all determine the minimum volume neccessary to lend weight to chart reading? i guess it would make a difference if the volume consist of there are a few large purchases compared to lots of small purchases? |
