I thought this forum is regarding Genting SP? Why suddently talk about commit suscide???? If this is the current topic, my opinion for this stock market in 10 years, i think the only way you can profit from this stock market is long term hold and dollar averaging on the stock which is good counter. Before that investor must know how to read financial statement and all the fundamentals of a company. Invest only the business you know... | ||||

I only can think of playing stock is like 'passing the battons around'. BBs let you hold their shares for a while, after that, buy back from you......LOL!

The stock market is only for mature people who realise that it is not the place to 'make money'. It is a place to learn the ropes and eventually enjoy the game and making money at the same time. But ironically, to truly learn the ropes, one needs to understand the first line above... |

Why committed suicide because of playing in the stock market. If that money is for your medical usage and you lost it, perhap you might died without medical attention.

Yes, you are perfectly right as far as playing majong is concerned. But playing stocks is not playing majong. Whereas when you play majong, you have the other three kakis to 'supervise' you, thus you can't do crazy things. But with stocks, you can without anyone's knowledge, bet a house, or any huge amount, on highly leveraged margin, which is easily obtained, especially if you are well-to do in the first place. (By the way, it is not only the poor who have committed suicide after losing in stocks). You are right about the practical aspects of stock trading, getting the feel, etc. But even if you are not a gambler, there's much to learn about how to trade, especially the aspects concerning mastering your own behaviour when money is involved. Risk management can be easily taught but not easily learned. And you are so right that I was once a newbie too. Since the time I started in stocks (and commodities), I have practically bought every book on the market about stock market trading, technical analysis, psychology, etc, thus I have a good basic grounding in the practice of stock trading. But this is really unnecessary because modern course by dedicated authors have distilled the vast wealth of knowledge into single courses. such courses are well worth pursuing, be they in the form of a manual or personal coaching. As long as one understands internally the teachings and lives the teachings religiously (but do not be religious), one is assured of a satisfying activity in stock trading for life.

Just like any Casino, d dealer normally has d upper hand. As for stocks, Trading is for institutions. It is not meant for retail folks(like some of us, including AK), as most of them just do not have the technology and temperament to suceed. However, if one is vigilant in the trading atmosphere, he may exit quick enough to avoid serious burnt, during the unforeseen circumstances loh. |

Many people have died (committed suicide) because they playing the stock market. Stock trading is not an adventure. It is a serious business and a serious job. To succeed in any serious job, one has to be well-trained. The reason why so many committed suicide when playing stocks is simply that they are not properly prepared to do stock trading. It needs special training... in technique as well as in psychology Thus, this is why I always discourage newbies from playing stocks.

You are the one who make yourself stuck. No one asked you to hold when it the price is going against you. I shorted @.945, and I had decided firmly to dump if it goes up to .955. Only in this way can you protect yourself from being 'stuck'. But now I am profiting, as today's price is .89, I can afford to hold longer... |
