First of All, knowing that you are newbies, in any field or any game, of course you must work DOUBLE or TRIPLE HARD to undertake learning and training and PAPER practice. | ||||

If this is not the time, then when will be the right time? Do you know? I suppose this depends on which level of risk-taker you are, how much money you intend to 'start-with' and the holding period you're looking at. Though at this point we purchased at a high price, but if their holding period would be 10yrs down the road, I suppose, probably, they should be making profit? By the way, I'm also a newbie for only 9mths and thats my own point-of-view. As long as we do some homework ourselves, set a own limit for profit/gain, anybody can start any time? We came to sharejunction in hope of getting, learning, sharing new stuffs/techniques and yes, I managed to learn some charts, understand the basic terms that you all frequently mention (MFT, BBs etc), some other important stuffs and sometimes had a good laugh at some jokes/nonsense some were saying. All in all, we had to base 99% in ourselves in making the decision for buy or sell call.

Agreed with you. I think it's not the right time for ignorant and innocent newbies to come into stocks at these days bcs it's so speculative and volatile. The best time to buy those div or blue chip is years before this terrible financial crises. When I bot Boustead at 50cts and Smarine at $1.60 and a few others but the handsome gains are ruined by those blood sucking Chinese stocks.

sorry to bring this old topic back up, but i'm lazy to start another. i was trying to find out the dividend of reits, so i referred to this site http://reitdata.com/ which provides a breakdown. However, i can't seem to be able to get the annualised DPU used for cambridge nor AIMS. It seems that cambridge is slightly off, and i can't seem to match any dividends pay out to hit the 0.359 cts for AIMs.. anyone please advise if i'm reading the table wrongly?? |

you have to stay invested if you want your money to work harder instead of earning saving interest rate... just remember there is no such thing as a stock sure win in long term... there is a sure win period when a stock is under-valued and you bought it when others are busy chasing other speculative stocks.... and when you buy good stock, please buy with money to pick up - cos' you can lose money even playing contra on good stock. |

Hi tonersweat, my best advice is dun play shares at all if u have not start especially at the level 9 out of 10 loss money and usually newbie pay some tution fees before they learn or make some money... my own example: 1st year lost +-10K --- buy on recomendation by friends etc 2nd year lost +-5k --- read some FA, reports, internets, etc 3rd year make +-$11K --- mostly luck though begin to follow chart closely But overall all still in the red.... :( That's my story, hope u dun mind my 2 cents worth.. .
