Recent low was 78.5c (5 Oct), so selling now (81c) is near the bottom - not advisable. Midas just starting to get more n more contracts - so now is left to its execution - whether this translates to profits in the future is unknown. I divested at 88c with small gain last mth.

relax :) with its quite solid FA its still a good bargain to enter at this price, however we must know what determine the price of a share. It is determine by a lot of factors.... such as the market sentiments it determine how much investors are willing to pay for the share. Example your running a restuarant which is a rating of 5/5 and people willing to pay more to have a place during good times. But during bad times even your rating is good you might have to lower your price or offer to attract people to your restuarant :)

I bought Midas nearly 3 years ago and have not sold any. My price was avg $1.90, but since I went abroad have not been watching this counter until recently. Was so surprised it has dropped so low. Why?

Top 20 Share Holders usually will consist of FI/Banks and it is place under a account call stock account. This allow FI/Bank borrow out these shares to thier client through CFD or Margin account that's why theres a limit of short available for each counter. BB Usually have Multiple accounts to create the desire results. Midas has limited floating shares and most of the holders are long term investors (at least 12 months from now). Besides there is a safe line thats guarding it crossing from 0.75 "Unless something major happen Anything Lower than 0.80 is a good buy." So dont worry much. Not much meat for BB to short anyway but BB wont attempt to push it either at least for now. We might see Midas Trading around 0.78-0.86 for a while. Things changes .... so this is what will happen if market sentiments remains but after friday things might really change......

Hi knightbridge, Alum price does not affect the profit margin as it is on cost-plus basis.

When it come to investing, market sentimental changes very fast all the time.. It is impossible to time the market, as we are not god. example 911 or gulf war or lehman crash, recovery. just got to stay vested.. Dont see the CEO or top 20 shareholder sell immediately when things take a turm. Unless you are company who are highly gear and low cash. (cashflow is the key to business survival, how big the company without proper management will fall. waiting to buy for if dips persists, looking at the earning for 2010 and 2011. Earning visibility still high for the company. Watch the aluminium price might affect its earning..

It doesn't matter except for the commission charged for the shares and the spread of the CFD, all at the same time on your account.

Thanks! Assuming shares to buy in CFD and shares to sell now are of the same amount, it doesn't matter that I sell at such depressed prices because I will also be buying CFDs at the same prices - right?

Depends on which brokerage firm you are dealing with. Some firms require deposit in advance while waiting for sale proceeds to clear. Some firms auto credit your sale proceeds for immediate use.

I have paid up Midas shares bought at 60 cents. I want to sell all and then buy Midas CFD. I intend to use 30% of my proceeds for CFD and keep the rest as stand-by cash. Do I buy the Midas CFD first or sell Midas first? Hope to hear some advise.... greatly appreciate it! |
