The editing feature should have at least a time limit of say 1 to 2 mins for the poster to quickly edit if he/she realise some errors, after tat time limit, the editing feature should be disabled to prevent abuse.

I would have much preferred if they dispense with it altogether or at worse tweak the good-bad post by revealing the monikers.As long as you can have multiple monkers, any rating system will be open to abuse. Again on the issue of editing, its a double edge sword. It does not necessarily mean that it will improve or correct facts and opinion. It is also reasonable to assume it may lead to further abuse of the 'sinister' kind. So where do we draw the line? If financial markets is all about transparency and accountability, I dun see why forums like this should be any different. |

Agree with you. Although there are some abuse cases, the rating system in the forum serves as check-and-balance on the posts that people make. While I get my share of some bad post comments occasionally, it doesn't really bother me because I do get good posts as well. I feel that the bad posts that I get are not because people don't like me, but rather, they don't like what I post. It is two different things. Honestly, I find that the people who consistently get bad posts are those who react openly to them. I also believe that this rating system has help to prevent this forum from degenerating into the rubbish in what we see on other forums.

Supposing you said "blacker" then you actually mean "black" then your meaning is not what you wanted. So allowing the poster to edit it makes his meaning clearer to those reading the post. |

But this is not a problem at all... since one can immediately correct oneself upon posting something in error... Editing a posted item is to me is like a 'violation' of others' property (a posted item is already part of the forum)... Furthermore, if it can be done, people can even edit long after the post, in hindsight... hehehe...

I have no complain about the features in Sharejunction. The rating feature while obviously open to misused is still a good feature as it gives other readers the chance to rate a post. Everyone forms his own opinion about what is writen. This ensures a writer continues to write factually and open to diversity of views. There is nothing wrong with the rating system although it is rarely used. The only bad feature in the forum is the inability to edit what has been written. There are times when one can make some serious mistakes over facts and typos but unable to correct them. Then the readers will misjudge the writer. Had he been able to edit and then correct some of the facts he wrote earlier, it could then reflect his actual views or facts to tell. If this feature can be available, it would be excellent. This is the only problem. | ||

No use complaining to admin, I even made an open call to admin to remove tat redundant, no value-added, subject to abuse "bad rating" and about forumers abuse of the forum posting their personal ads but admin dun seems to take action, really very disappointing and disheartening. If nothing is done by admin, very soon this forum will become very unruly and degraded like some other forum tat I cant be bothered to post there.

That one must contain four letter word...just now i read one got "f**king" in it. i thk it is no right to abuse the system to annoy other by anyhow rating the post and use four letter words here. this is my opinion. But the Admin, of this forum know who are they, and will follow on them soon. i believe they are watching. |
