Ya.... Fundamental still good la.. But due to the looming huge debts, they gotta save some money to clear them mahhh.. If issue rights... price will most probably fall also.. unless the discount is huge.. Looking at the debts, Rickmers will become another SAIZEN REITS.... No dividends or nothing much for the next few quarters... unless they manage to refinance the debts.. Lesson Learnt: DO NOT CHASE AFTER STOCKS DUE TO DIVIDENDS... See Achieva, Saizen, and now Rickmers as case example.. |

Emm FSL, i don't thk they will do a Rickmer. They already did the necessities fr this recession period (by forecasting the reduce of divi to US $15 / lot fr next 2 qtr). N i like them is bc they are stronger in: 1) new more sustainable business model 2) its diversified vessel mix of containers, tankers and dry bulk carriers. Rickmer sudden cut in DPU , to be frank is expected. Issues compounded for Rickmers Maritime (RMT) because of its high leverage and sizeable contracted acquisitions that were committed to during the better days. N to recap, their concerns include: 1) loan-to-value covenants on existing loans; 2) loan-to-value requirements that affect RMT’s ability to draw down committed loan facilities for the US$207m Hanjin acquisitions due in 2H09 3) a need to repay up to US$154m in loans next year 4) no arranged financing for the US$711.6m in contracted acquisitions due next year 5) the likely redelivery of a vessel in February 2010 that could impact cash flows. They are unlucky lah......plan wrongly during the good days. Want to keep still can, its divi drop now.............. but may up back in next year/ or when times are good. Depend on how individual thinks lah.........

most of the us buy this counter is for the DPU. and of course the capital gain. with that kind of DPU.wat u think most people will do. but then shipping slump will not go on forever, it depends r u willing to hold.. of course i m not telling anyone to dump. do you own Decision making. just stating some fact here.

aiya!!! omg !!! this is really out of every one expectation. most of us knew that the earning increase as they took delivery of new vessel. this is really unexpected.!! price will surely take a tumble on monday. at this rate alot will dump this an move over to FSL. but than again, wat happen if next QTR FSL do the same?? there is a lesson tobe learn for most of us here. nothing is for sure loh. !! is the management prudent in making this decision, in my is veiw it not. for one reason is that , even they do not pay out any D for next 3 qtr the amt retain is still way from the amt require to settle the debt. so not happy investor wat happen?. share price drop loh.!! why not do a share placement like city spring.??? aiya!! "jia luck liao" come monday. ( just my view ) |

Mainboard-listed shipping trust, Rickmers Maritime, said its distributable income for the second quarter rose 42 per cent to US$19.6 million from a year ago. But distribution per unit for the quarter dropped 73 per cent to 0.6 US cents as the trust wants to retain cash and strengthen its balance sheet amid the current economic uncertainties. Charter revenue for the three months to June rose 59 per cent to US$37.6 million. Rickmers said its revenue has so far been unaffected by the economic slowdown as its ships are chartered out on long-term fixed-rate charters. But it admits that the downturn in the global economy and the container shipping industry has created challenges on several fronts. These include value-to-loan covenants and the refinancing of a US$130 million facility maturing next April. As such, it has decided to reduce the payout to unit holders for the quarter to remain prudent. Looking ahead, the manager of the shipping trust said the downturn in container shipping is expected to be prolonged. But for the immediate future, Rickmers said its priority is to take delivery of its orderbook and finalise agreements with the lending banks.

The conference call is standard procedure for them, like most of the USA companies. I listened to last one. So to me, there is nothing unusual about holding a conference call

The fact that they're gungho enough to hold a conference call after the announcement signals confidence. Think about it, if you have weak answers, would you want more or less questions? 
I'm waiting for a big dividend!

was busy with my business haha ... saw my name and freeme .. haha thank you for your compliment :) I am die hard fan for rickmers .. time to take $ from them again !! that time i took 2.4k of dividends so if every q like that i take 10 k a year haha ... if i got more shares , i take 50 k a year ... woah ... Hi dealer0168, many thanks for the response. Will be keeping some for long term as I'm concerned that I may end up buying higher if let go all. Bollinger bands for Rickmers seem to be tightening...hope it'll have a good run up.. |
