if US can register a positive growth in the third quarter this year, I forsee that consumer spending will gradually increase. With a weakening US dollar, commodities price will go up. If oil price can reach around $80 to $90 due to inflation, the OPEC may boost production which require more oil rigs. Orders for oil rigs may then increase as last seen when oil price reached a record high of around US$140. :D | ||||

just went in :D S-chips seem to be doing well nowadays. china manufacturing index shows strong growth. soaring imports of iron core and commodities coupled with an increase in the dry baltic index probably showed that the shipping industry is bottoming out. With imports and exports on the rise, I probably forsee that the shipping sector will start booming. :D | ||||

sigh....strong new order??? How many so far, and they call it strong?? When there wasn't much order cancellation, they downgrade all shipping related share saying they are expecting huge order cancellation. Now, not a lot order received so far, and yet they said strong order and hence upgrade these shares to BUY. They are basically BS....

Offshore and Marine Sector DMG & PARTNERS SECURITIES, May 21 WE are upgrading our offshore and marine sector from Neutral to Overweight. Macro environment appears to turn for the better. With general strengthening in commodity and the rally in global equities markets, oil prices have climbed 70 per cent from the February lows. We believe crude oil price will trend higher, driven by Opec production cuts and signs of recovery of consumer demand. While both Keppel and SCM have outperformed the STI, we believe that there is further upside, especially from secular earnings growth and strong new order momentum. We also note that both Keppel and SCM are currently trading at undemanding valuations even after the recent price rebound. Upgrade Keppel to Buy, Cosco to Neutral and reiterate Buy on SCM. When market goes down, this counter follows likewise, but when market rises, you can be sure you can count on this baby. I have full confidence on this counter. Look at Yangzijiang....what's stopping Cosco from following likewise...yeah you can say Yangzijiang has solid orders in their books, but don't underestimate this baby. | ||||

Wah, this seems to be your first post. Be very careful on stock investment, it is dangerous if you are not equipped with the skill, knowledge and count on beginner luck. There are many posts for newbie, perhaps you should start reading them and get some good ideas on what is stock investment before commit your money into the market. The market is a school of real hard knock.

Obviously this should not be the one to pick. All reasons posted before. I was wondering why it went down 15c at midday. Anyone can share or bb are started to dump this after a full stomach of $$$$. I am still waiting for it to come down to 70c...... From past experience when Cosco slide deep it will trigger massive selling and I am patiently waiting.... |

These are "bad" news that were resulted from past few months consolidation of fruitless events. Expecting these to happen this year which could be due to last yr poor performance... should see good resutls by thrid quaters. I believe people have read this news over bloomberg or reuters but somehow is still peak at 1.38 ? They see them as a potential 5 times increment champion and if YZJ can up , why not Cosco ? These are risks people are willing to take . and risk comes with a return ( a lesson learnt or money earned) For me , I am expecting that already and see this counter should rise based on ruthless market sendiment , TP : 1.8 by june 2009 |
