AGM-Annual General Meeting. Hold yrly, Bd to table their previously yr coy's performance. To answer query by All shareholders fr d floor. Announce coy's future biz stretegy n plans. Getting consenses fr d shareholders for any amendment in coy staff, admin n opt matters. Last agenda normally is the passing of d div; sp div, bonus n other entitlements as announced earlier. Normally, d agenda will be passed after d voting.

EGM-Extra Ordinary Meeting; impromptu ones. Some issues need shareholders to vote for approval.

Last but not least after the mtg, happy hr. Buffet dinner will be served. If coy earned $, u may rcv door gift b4 u leave d hall. Ha ha BTW, for coy didn't do well, got coffe n tea , u r heng liao. Hence, dun anyhow to attend d AGM/EGM. Shi.... dun tell people, SPC mtg good one.

Generally, Div, Bonus, Right n other entitlement, recommended by the board, will be seconded and passed during the AGM/EGM. Small retailers sure put up their hands to support d proposal ones.

If u r d share holder, u will rcv d AR very soon, norm 2 weeks or more after d public announcement. Hmm, GAR making $, foods catered for d AGM must be not bad loh. Cheers.

Golden Agri Q408 net profit falls, plans 1:25 bonus issue

SINGAPORE - Golden Agri-Resources Ltd on Friday said that its fourth-quarter net profit fell 77 per cent as palm oil prices slumped.

Net income dropped to US$133.3 million, or 1 US cent a share, from US$573.8 million, or 6 US cents, a year ago, the unit of Indonesia's largest oil-palm grower said today in a statement.

Sales dropped 10 per cent to US$591 million, it said.

The company is proposing a bonus issue of up to 399.04 million new ordinary shares on the basis of one bonus share for every 25 existing shares.

The proposed bonus issue is intended as a reward to shareholders for continuing to support the company and is subject to listing approval.

Which of the 3 stocks (FirstRes, GoldAgr, IndoAgr)  is the best ?

Assuming GoldAgri is the best (Index stock), then sell FirstRes and buy GoldAgri to top up to get whole bonus lot.

Eg : GoldAgri : 20 lots at hand, buy 30 lots (money from selling FirstRes) to make up to 50 lots which will give you 2 bonus lots.

20cts, still reasonable, as it just above yr low of 15.5cts when STI was 1472.77.
