His younger son is  PAP,  and he WP.  How this is possible, puzzling to me somethimes.  Father usually follows son and gave encouragement for his aimbitions.  Did he fail here? There must be something we don't know about.

He was an ex-magistrate/judge, so his legal fees were modestly high, but he was a kind man.  If I remembered correctly, after he successfully negotiated a settlement for me,  his bills worked out to be about $2500.00, quite a sum those days for me as I was just out working.  I couldn't pay him but he was so kind to write the whole bill off.  You really can find only a few lawyers like him nowadays!  This is a true story and not a make up.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Former opposition MP JB Jeyaretnam dies >Former opposition MP and former Secretary-General of the Workers' Party, Mr JB Jeyaretnam died early Tuesday morning due to heart failure at 82. Mr Jeyaretnam, who had a pre-existing heart condition was rushed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital at about 1.30am but doctors were unable to revive him. Mr Jeyaretnam was the first opposition member to win a Parliamentary seat in 15 years when he won the Anson By-Election in 1981. He left the Workers' Party in 2001, and in July this year, had launched a new party called the Reform Party.
