During CO rocketing to 147.27 on 11 Jul, Chairman OPEC commented that logically the CO should be around 80 USD marked in mid 2007 level. And the cause is not because of output. Lately, when CO dropped below 130, OPEC member, fr Veni, cautious all OPEC members that they would't wish to see CO drop further. They will bring this issue up to next meeting in Sep to curb the weakening CO prices. AK worry loh, as all these oil rich countries decade's country development plan ahead were based on high CO prices. Any major distrubtive of CO prices will affect their plans, ie they hv to use their county reserves to match the cash shortfall for the developments along the way. Ah yah, AK relax lah, jangan tension. |

I think SPC is taking cue from PetroChina which reported a bad quarter of 43% drop due to low refining margin. China is still the biggest mkt for SPC and bcos of that I think SPC was being sold off by the BBs beforehand and that's the piece of the zigjaw puzzle we do not know beforehand. I would not touch this burger for the time being...good luck folks.

SPC should cheong liao tomorrow if nothing happens from now to 9am tomorrow. CO hit $119....something to cheers about for SPC die-hard fan. Although SPC's profit is generated from RM, but she is the only oil play in SGX, hence CO surge will indirectly affect the share price of SPC...cheers! But too bad I let go liao! |

MA don't show good signs. May have more selling downs. Seem like either funds are unloading or heavily shorting this counter again. As ozone stated, the hurricanes might be on SPC's side. Caveat. |

Had better rebound tomorrow. I also dun see any reason for this fall. Could there be something the BBs knew but we dun know? I got my fingers burnt today too, lost 10¢ and I quickly look for exit. Then it went down all the way to 5.21...my exit dun know if it good or silly @5.28 as the CO now is traded higher abover $117.00. Might be a rebound tomorrow as hurricane is threatening. Maybe for those who got trapped can consider exit when rebound....just my view.

His big brother, KepCorp, owning 45% of its stake, also dies together with it. As KC also holding 10.8% of its cap in ppty, with the gloomy ppty forecast, thats could attributed to the further decline of the share price loh. AK has very strong feeling that this burger had been heavily pressed down by the players or opportunists around. Really, dun see any very good reason for it to topple so freely over the few days leh. With the above illogical price tagging confusion, during lunch time, AK also pondering on SIA, CO went up but it climbed with such a quiet market sentiment. I released my remaining holding after lunch. Am I got it at 15.12 n Pm15.24, getting away the hassle to crack my head.

dunno abt u guys..but i'm definitely gettin some SPC n palm oil related counters Oil rises above $117 on supply worries TOKYO: Oil rose for a third straight session on Wednesday, to above $117 a barrel, on growing worries that Tropical Storm Gustav may threaten oil and natural gas installations in the Gulf of Mexico. Dollar weakness and tensions between Russia and the West after U.S. President George W. Bush condemned Russia for recognising breakaway regions in Georgia also supported prices. Crude for October delivery rose 86 cents to $117.13 a barrel by 8:39 a.m., after settling up $1.16 on Tuesday. London Brent crude rose 79 cents to $115.42 a barrel. Masaki Suematsu, analyst at broker Newedge in Tokyo expected oil to head towards last week's near-three-week high just above $122 a barrel over the next several days depending on weather in the Gulf of Mexico. "Gustav is headed right toward the centre of the Gulf of Mexico. Hurricanes taking this route are usually threatening," he said, Gustav was downgraded to a tropical storm on Wednesday after it slammed into Haiti on Tuesday, but forecasters expect wind speeds to regain hurricane force, and it could be the first major storm to threaten oil and gas production in the Gulf of Mexico since 2005. Royal Dutch Shell, the largest oil and natural gas producer in the region, said it would begin evacuating non-essential personnel from offshore facilities on Wednesday if the storm's forecast remains unchanged. Three years ago, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita crippled production in the region that produces a quarter of U.S. crude oil and 15 percent of its natural gas. "I'm afraid (Gustav) could potentially cause an impact similar to hurricanes Katrina and Rita, although I certainly do not wish such things," said Tetsu Emori, a fund manager at Astmax Co in Tokyo. STOCKS, POLITICS AND THE DOLLAR The dollar fell against the euro, after hitting a six-month high the previous day when German business morale slumped to multi-year lows and reinforced views the European Central Bank will eventually cut rates. The latest in the war of words between Russia and the West, also supported oil. U.S. President George W. Bush on Tuesday condemned Russia's decision to recognise Georgian rebel regions as independent and accused Moscow of escalating tensions with an "irresponsible decision". Traders also focused on the latest oil inventory data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, due at 10:35 a.m. EDT (3:35 p.m.). An expanded Reuters poll of analysts showed an average forecast for a 1 million-barrel rise in U.S. crude stocks and a 500,000 barrel build in distillates. Gasoline inventories are projected to fall 2.9 million barrels, a fifth straight weekly decline, as refiners were seen drawing down inventories of summer-grade gasoline. On Tuesday, the EIA reported U.S. oil demand in June fell 5.6 percent from a year ago. But other data suggested signs of a slight recovery in gasoline consumption. U.S. retail gasoline demand rose 1.3 percent last week as average gasoline prices dipped below $4 nationwide, MasterCard Advisors said on Tuesday. |
