Thanks. TA cannot be believed, of course, as it uses past data to determine the trend. There is no way it can give us 100% accuracy. It is just statistical and gives one a better probability of being right. TA people are normally wrong when they do not follow strictly to the rules set. They are wrong because they are emotional people. I was told by my friend that some investment houses even use automated TA software to aid them in buy/sell. In this way, emotion is minimsed, and they can do better. Not sure if it is true but i'm sure TA executed by computers can profit better.

Nobody knows. Just nibble along the way in case there is a rally, really nobody knows, even greatest fund managers cannot predict accurately. I think it has fallen quite a lot from its peak. Pick 1 now and later if it drops to 7, pick another 1 or 2. If it drops to 6, pick another 3-6 and so on. Wait for bull to come and we will be rewarded.

I feel 8 * is still expensive looking at the present situation. I think $7.70 is better pick for OCBC bank... It definitely will go down... Happy Trading! |

Merrill Lynch keeps OCBC at Buy with target price of S$10.00 after nondeal roadshow in U.K. with CEO David Conner. Notes bank's medium-term goal to differentiate its products and services to gain better pricing power, lower customer acquisition costs. Adds, bank aiming to improve capital mix via cheaper forms of capital relative to equity; Says move should be "warmly welcomed" as high capital ratios, low financial leverage have dragged ROE; adds, capital issues necessary for bank to pursue more aggressive capital management, such as higher dividend payouts and/or more share buybacks. Raises 2008-09 profit estimates 9%, 6% on higher margin assumptions, due to improved loan-pricing, more favorable gapping opportunities from steeper SGD yield curve, reduced credit costs. But notes, house's 2008-09 forecasts still below consensus by 2%, 5% due comparatively low loan growth estimates for Singapore banks; forecasts 2008-09 Singapore loan growth of 10%, 8%.
