No, most  were   lured into this  by  this    slogan -

Load up before you are left out.

The most unfortunate thing is that the investors are lured into buying into this counter by many so-called " analyst" and " professionals."

Even if in black and white the financial  books looks good.. but the reality and qn that are still glaring at everybody

1): Are the books recorded honestly? IF its ok, and everything is accounted for, it will not be like now..

2) Is the CEO really a noob or " act smart" ? Something he knows that everyone doesn't know?

3) Everyone knows honesty is very important in getting investors to pour in money etc. etc.. ... e.g. you can do everything right from the beginning but it just take 1 wrong step (dishonesty??) to destroy everything you have done right.. Who would believe you anymore?

I also hope the counter will list soon.. but up till now.. the CEO does not even bother to hasten the AGM or to even initiate a special meeting for all shareholders to shed some light into the audit matter and calm the nerves of shareholders (big or small).

To short on a 8% surge is not an attractive  ratio for risk/rewads to look at.

That was just a prediction of any   " basic stock  cycle"   in  a  " premature level" .

alexchia01      ( Date: 31-Mar-2011 10:38) Posted:

You are not wrong. You just predicted too early.

I also believe that STI would fall to 2900, but not in the near term.

STI is still in a down trend channel, so as long as it does not breaks above 3200, it should goes down 2900. However, it would move near to 3200 before heading down again. I think most likely in Oct 2011 where your prediction would come true.

I'm playing short-term to mid-term trades, so I'm really concern about this.

For long-term investors, it's time to get out.

Below  abstract shows  that during IPOs, the stabalising manager themselves, do the shorting and covering before and after maket..........

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stabilization Activities by Underwriters

after Initial Public Offerings

ABSTRACT

Prior research has assumed that underwriters post a stabilizing bid in the aftermarket.

We find instead that aftermarket activities are less transparent and

include stimulating demand through short covering and restricting supply by

penalizing the f lipping of shares. In more than half of IPOs, a short position of

an average 10.75 percent of shares offered is covered in 22 transactions over

16.6 days in the aftermarket, resulting in a loss of 3.61 percent of underwriting

fees. Underwriters manage price support activities by using a combination of

aftermarket short covering, penalty bids, and the selective use of the overallotment

option.

Singapore home prices edged up in Q1 on strong China demand-JLL

reuters
On Wednesday 30 March 2011, 16:00 SGT

SINGAPORE, March 30 (Reuters) - Strong demand from mainland Chinese buyers helped Singapore private home prices edge higher in the first quarter of 2011, despite government efforts to cool the market, property consultants Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) said on Wednesday.

The average value of non-prime private apartments in Singapore reached a record high of S$1,043 ($823) per square foot in the first quarter, exceeding the previous high of S$1,020 psf in the last three months of 2010, JLL estimates.

Singapore, like Hong Kong, has found it difficult to keep a lid on property prices due to the surge in global liquidity that has pushed mortgage rates to near record lows as well as strong demand from cash-rich China nationals. [ID:nL3E7E91AR]

The increasing cost of owning a home has become a political issue ahead of general elections that may take place as early as next month.

Chinese nationals made up the largest group of foreign buyers of Singapore property, accounting for about one quarter of all purchases by foreigners in the city-state, JLL added.

" The surge in Chinese buyers in Singapore coincided with the policy tightening in China," said Chua Yang Liang, JLL's head of research for Southeast Asia.

The strong demand from China will continue so long as Beijing's fiscal and monetary policies remain conducive to overseas investment by wealthier Chinese nationals, he added.

Chinese investors last year overtook Indonesians to become the largest group of foreign buyers of Singapore residential property.

In the first three months of 2011, mainland Chinese accounted for nearly one-third of purchases by non-Singaporeans in the top end of the market which JLL defined as homes worth S$5 million and above.

Singapore has stepped up construction of lower-cost government apartments and increased subsidies for first-time home buyers in the lower-income groups in a bid to cool the housing market.

It also introduced new anti-speculation measures on Jan 13 that included tougher borrowing limits and a hefty stamp duty of 16 percent of the selling price for those who buy and sell within 12 months. [ID:nL3E7CD0WK]

Singapore private home prices rose 17.6 percent last year despite government attempts to cool the market in February and August.

The country's Urban Redevelopment Authority will release flash estimates for private home prices in the first quarter on April 1. ($1 = 1.261 Singapore Dollars) (Reporting by Kevin Lim Editing by Ramya Venugopal)
