Make good profit comparable to China Fishery , and better diversified.  Giving out dividend @.6 cents (ie  yield 2.2 percent).

Be patient - it is a virtue.

Chen Weiping ranked 338 among The 400 Richest Chinese In 2005.
holds 13.6% interest in the stock down from 18%.  This perhaps explain why Midas at present is slow moving.

Not a very wise advice to short when the Capital Group Companies are accumulating Midas between 84 and 88.5 cents recently.

It's 'no' again to StarHub offer to carry mio TV content

SINGTEL has again rejected StarHub's offer to carry its mio TV content on its set-top box.

In the latest salvo fired between the two local telco giants, SingTel chief executive officer Allen Liew said during yesterday's launch of its sports-news channel, ESPNews: "The rejection was primarily based on the fact that we have already invested in our own pay-TV system to carry this content.

"Secondly, the feature functionality of our platform is superior to theirs."

StarHub had first made the offer late last month, so that local pay-TV customers would not have to purchase additional set-top boxes in order to switch to mio TV and enjoy its Barclays Premier League and sports coverage next June.

It ignited heated discussion between the two companies, with SingTel remarking that StarHub's offer had come "three years too late".

Responding to the latest rejection, StarHub said in a statement: "We are disappointed with SingTel's decision, as our proposal was aligned with public interest and consumers' wishes.

"It appears that a single set-top box option for consumers will not happen through just commercial negotiation."
