from OCBC:

"...
We continue to advocate a stock pick strategy. While the economic outlook has improved, we believe this has been priced in. Market attention is likely to focus on the pace and magnitude of the economic recovery in the coming months as well as the exit stance of the key policy makers. Several sectors are likely to continue to outperform in 2010 including commodities, oil & gas and infrastructure. However, as valuations are looking stretched, we believe that it is still best to stick to a stock pick strategy. Our top picks for 2010 are Ezra Holdings, Genting, Hyflux, Keppel Corp, Keppel Land, Midas Holdings, MobileOne, Noble Group, Olam International, Sembcorp Marine, Spore Telecoms, SMRT Corp, StarHub, UOL Group and Wilmar International..."

I was surprised no banks/finance & technology stocks are in the list

Glenocare will bring Chemoil to greater height , with its strong asset and trading backing.  Should touch above .40 soon

m2d4pc      ( Date: 18-Dec-2009 13:55) Posted:

Chemoil to go private is in Glencore best interest.
By privatizing it, Glencore can easily strip or restructure chemoil into Glencore business without needing to report to sgx about it!

In oil trading, speed and privacy is utmost important, SGX listing pose restriction to this kind of business.

The compulsory share buy back suggests that they are interested in taking it private.

Minority shareholders hope that the Jap fund would lead a counter-attack. But Glencore already has more than 50%, so the Jap would be wasting time doing a counter attack.

Not too late to buy now for those who missed the boat yesterday.  The best is yet to be - whether you believe it or not.  Seems like there are some green eye monsters around.

Don't read to much into the last minute sell at 90 cents. There must be sellers anyway before there could be any transaction. It could also mean these sellers are taking contra for a quick profit.

Personally, I think there is no much growth potentail albeit being quite stable.  Will be difficult to find so many professional dentists in its expansion plans overseas.

I sold Biosensors, (which was stagnant around 72 cents for more than a month) and bought this counter. But the sad part is that, the next day Biosensor started to move up and touched the new high of 80.5 cents. Anyway hope I wont be disappointed with this counter.

Ezra’s target price raised to $2.54 by CLSA, maintains buy

17.Dec.09
CLSA is maintaining Ezra Holdings (5DN.SG) at buy, raising its target price to $2.54 from $2.10
after upgrading its FY10, FY11 earnings forecasts by 10%, 11%, respectively, to factor in higher
margins and lower finance costs.

The brokerage says the offshore support services company is “poised to ride the growth in deepwater
exploration and surging demand for attendant subsea services” as it will take delivery of three subsea
vessels in 2010.

Although Ezra has not secured contracts for its subsea vessels, CLSA does not think this should be an
issue given strong demand and quality of its assets. But it says the company’s execution in the subsea
business will be key as its switch to focus on deepwater exploration gathers pace.

CLSA adds that Ezra’s valuation remains reasonable with PE premium to peers justified by strong track
record of execution, stock still trading below five-year average PE, price/book multiples.

DBS 25.Nov.09
Our sum-of-parts based TP for Ezra has been raised to S$2.77

UOB-KAY HIAN 16.Nov.09
Derived from sum-of the-parts, we initiate coverage with a 'buy' recommendation and target price of $2.70

Deutsche Bank Oct.09
Ezra Holdings   Buy Maintain   Target price of $2.70

JPMorgan Oct.09
Ezra Holdings   Overweight Upgrade   Target price of $2.40

Besides the growth potential and what to come after this, CWT has been giving out very high dividends consistently over the years.  It is not a speculative play - but for middle and long term investors

CWT in advanced talks to list Reit on SGX

SINGAPORE: Logistics company CWT said that it is in advanced talks on the proposed sale and leaseback of its logistics facilities in 24 Penjuru Road and 2 Fishery Port Road.

These facilities could eventually be included in the proposed listing of a real estate investment trust (REIT).
Apart from the proposed deal, CWT also said that Kim Eng Research has issued a favourable recommendation for the company's shares today.

Kim Eng has initiated coverage of the stock with a "buy" call and set a target price of S$1.11. - CNA/vm

One serious investor quoted : I think CWT is interesting enough to buy and hold until next year when trading picks up again. Probably should see more concrete developments NEXT YEAR on whether their going to divest their logistic warehouses into a REIT or not.

It is a credibility and sustainability of its business model issue.  Even for critics - they must be credible, rationale and astute

risktaker      ( Date: 18-Dec-2009 17:42) Posted:

anything lower than 0.40 is actually a very good price for RaffleEdu.

Mainly Education is recession proof. If there's recession the government will ask the public to go upgrade skills. Demand is always there.

To me if Education Business is very hard to fail unless you do something seriously wrong. In which i dont think RafflesEducation is doing anything wrong at least for now.

So i will Keep my  Buy call on this baby !

Long this baby I am sure you will Huat !

Such recommendation by Kim Eng is absurd and ridiculous.  How can M1 be higher than Starhub, and Starhub is targetted at $1.80.  Only mad and stupid will believe Kim Eng Securities which must be holding a lot of M1 shares.

Jackpot2010      ( Date: 14-Dec-2009 14:05) Posted:

High Div of 4.5c per qtr is not sustainable beyong this FY09 when the loss of BPL kicks in mid-2010.

Top Ideas (Kim Eng 14 Dec)

Target price: M1 $2.06, SingTel $3.51, StarHub $1.80

BUY on M1 and SingTel, SELL on StarHub

On balance however, we maintain our calls of BUY on M1 and SingTel and SELL on StarHub. The availability of iPhones will help M1 and StarHub defend their turf. M1 in particular should be able to start bringing down its stubbornly high churn rate. For StarHub however, the benefits are still outweighed by the risks of subscriber loss to SingTel after losing the BPL rights. We expect little to no impact on SingTel - it is unlikely many of its customers will jump ship, as the revised offerings (specifically, the larger data bundles and bill caps) have also been extended to them.
Telco Sector Update (Gregory YAP 6432 1450)
Previous day closing price: M1 $1.84, SingTel $3.02, StarHub $2.02 Recommendation: M1 Buy (maintained), SingTel Buy (maintained), StarHub Sell (maintained),

Poor reflection of the school and on the image of Singapore regardless of who wrote or vetted the report !!!  Being an educational institution, it has to be extra careful of what is written.  It gives a bad image and impression of Singapore as an international educational hub.
