actually , anyone knows wats the real reasons for yanlord to surge so high to 2.80ish in late july/early aug 2009?

becos remembered in july/aug 2009 many blue chips/pennies/s-chips/STI were all still at quite low levels at that time.(altho aug 2009 of course still higher than that march 2009 lows but also many stocks still at much lower levels and still a  bit bearish at that time) So why yanlord tat time 3rd qtr 2009 can surge till 2.80?

no idea bro.. maybe $3? it was $2.80 in mid '09 before all this cooling measure nonsense started. really depends how quickly ppl see the value in this stock and are convinced that the cooling measures don't have much impact on the profits. And all will start buying again and we the "pioneers" will be laughing our way to the bank..

SINGAPORE, Jan 27 - Shares of Singapore-listed Chinese property developer Yanlord Land fell as much as 3 percent to a seven-month low on Thursday after China unveiled fresh measures to curb property prices.

At 0350 GMT, shares of Yanlord were 2.4 percent lower at S$1.60 with over 3.1 million shares changing hands.

Smaller China property firm Pan Hong Property Group retreated 5.7 percent to S$0.415.

"Yanlord is one of the most prominent China property plays listed here, so China's tightening measures have definitely taken a toll on their shares," said a local trader.

Banks in China would require a down payment of at least 60 percent for second-home buyers, up from 50 percent currently, according to a state media report citing a cabinet statement.

It has already substantially delivered on its S$800m to S$1b 2H10 investment target with two major endeavors in Singapore (the Bedok site) and China (a 66% effective stake in a prime shopping mall and office development in Shanghai). In Malaysia, CMA recently announced that it will divest the Gurney Plaza extension to its newly listed CapitaMalls Malaysia Trust for MYR 215m (S$89.2m). Further divestments, such as of ION Orchard in Singapore, are also possible in 2011. We note that with continuing divestments, CMA’s directly owned retail portfolio is fairly immature, but this is partially offset through fee income from its listed REITs. We continue to like CMA’s retail expertise, Asia exposure, and the upside from the deployment of its balance sheet. Our previous BUY rating and S$2.40 fair value (pegged at parity to RNAV) is UNDER REVIEW.(Meenal Kumar)

have u ever noticed, Friday selldown is Capitaland, with 2 million sells at closing at 3.62. Close to 8 million dollars thrown.

Thursday selldown CMA, 28 million lots transacted.

These BBs hate stocks that start with Capital***, maybe these funds lose big on this before, or trying to close book before yr end by not holding stocks that start with Capital***.

Maybe next Monday, these ppl will repeat the selldown on CMA again..

Bon, u might be right...this counter value is 1.71, so possible if drop 1.60 i will switch my money to this counter...cos under values..

my intention bought this counter is just for playing contra only, did not expect catching fallen knife. Cos @1.91 is good support.

If between 1.92-1.86 not falling like this, definitely  I will cut loss, but since drop so far then i think it will worth to hold also

I just say, someone who dump @1.85-1.86 must be rugi...

I will cut loss when there is bad news come out within few days, if not then i will hold

My view only, I might wrong... But if CapMallsAsia dropped till 1.60. I'll use my coffin's monies & buy...
