i think investors are being fooled by the media ...with nokia showing a weaker outlook goes to show that consumer demand is slowing.. they don't understand the dire consequence of a USA "slowdown" (read RECESSION!)

Stocks had been lower through most of the session as investors mulled weaker quarterly results from Merrill Lynch, Nokia's dour outlook, a steep drop in a key manufacturing index and oil and gas prices near record highs.

i agree with hulumas.. except that 2nd qtr still down..but 3rd qtr onwards bullish uptrend..

with the effects of the US presendential erection setting in.. markets also erect same way..keke

then 2009 is DOWNTOWN to chinatown..ba ba bear
