Utac to relist in US$406 mln S'pore IPO: sources

Utac is seeking a listing on the Singapore exchange in the third quarter, and has hired Bank of America Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan, UBS, and United Overseas Bank as the joint book runners, said one of the sources close to the deal.

'It is still in the pre-marketing stages, nothing has been firmed up but it is targeting to list in the third quarter,' another source told Reuters.

Utac was taken over by Global A& T Electronics Ltd, a vehicle owned by Affinity and TPG, in a US$1.4 billion leveraged buyout just around the time when the credit crisis began.

TPG and Affinity will not sell any of their stakes in Utac, but their stakes will be diluted after the share offering, a source said. New shares will be offered in the IPO, other sources said.

Utac plans to use the funds raised to retire debt and undertake potential acquisitions in the future. Banking sources have previously said the debt is around US$1 billion.

The company, which tests semiconductor chips used in tablet PCs and smartphones, could benefit from booming demand for the consumer electronic devices made popular by Apple's iPhone and iPad.

Singapore-based Utac employees over 13,000 people, and has operations in the city-state, China, Taiwan and Thailand. -- REUTERS

SINGAPORE - Microchip tester United Test Assembly Centre (Utac), which was taken over by buyout firms TPG and Affinity Equity Partners in 2007, is seeking to relist in Singapore in an IPO worth about S$500 million (US$406.3 million), two sources said on Wednesday.

I Buy when I see it moving to the up trend.

Right now, I'm still waiting for the reversal, so no target price yet.

Once I see a good entry point, I'll post again.

Seeing that it broken its previous support of $1.86, you can be sure it's going to fall further.

According to Fibonacci Retracement, next support at $1.73.

WHICH  country is WORLD No. 1  in  PROSTITUTION  now ?

In terms of total number of prostitutes ?

In terms of % of prostitutes to the country's population ?

?

Is there a  RANKING    LIST  ?

" ..........Is PROSTITUTION an ORGANIZED CRIME ? ..............."

Its a MUST to organise this crime than to be sorry.

Singapore is " bertter off" to be overtaking Las Vegas in casino gaming, than having overtaking some countires being the world no. 1 prostitution country .

So many listed in SGX, why give yourself

stress to buy sick-chips. As I have mentioned

before, good china stocks are listed in SSE and

HKSE. If there are china bank stock listed here

I will be the first one to  invest lor.

catalyst      ( Date: 15-Jun-2011 00:51) Posted:

You try lor.

Countless times various investing/stock market 101 stated before, that do NOT invest/play pennies if you do not know about the company that you are gonna buy. Most S-chips fall in this category. Pennies.

If you are unsure, don't buy. Simple as that.

You buy, means you are sure that enough that the company is sound that gives you some confidence to buy.

Greed will always be a factor when buy a stock. Annual reports do NOT always mean all is well with the company.

PRC good at magic.

Audit time, company can suddenly catch fire.

Major lending banks can also be in cahoots.

Where do you start suing.

Even if you win, you lose. CEO go jail a few years, with billions millions stashed away under whole kampung kronies.

You? Oh you won't get your money back, as company declare bankrupt as  they can't even get privatized.

Best way to handle S-chips? Stay away.

Cut loss and move on.

Would like to see a cap of not more than 30% singaporean

inside the casino at any one time now.  The intention is for foreigners, not

singaporean to gamble. The social  value and moral will be very very low if you

have a family member who is a gambler. I KNOW THAT.

Previously a co. must have 3 preceeding yrs of making profit

before it is allow to be listed. THE SGX SHOULD NOW MAKE IT

COMPULSORY AGAIN. Pl. do not allow any tom dick or harry seeking

funds from public to be listed.THE SGX SHOULD BE MORE

STRINGENT IN THEIR LISTING REQUIREMENTS. One or two

failure S-chip co. is acceptable but not so many of them. Why the coincidence.

So much so that the a/c and balance sheets look ok, the cash could be in some

ppl personal bank  a/c lor.

Laulan      ( Date: 13-Jun-2011 11:30) Posted:

I think again, and reason that if S-Chips are that bad, why have them approved for listing in the first place.   And why slap themselves in the face and exposing their lack of foresight, expertise or lack of good bourses governance.   It goes to show that authorities in the relevant exchanges are either sleeping or they could be they are in cahoots with dishonourable elements of the markets.   Don't tell me that they can't differentiate between a good set of accounts and a lying account?   Something is wrong somewhere, where is the due diligence, the responsibility to the investing public?

But anyway, it is not too late now to tackle the S-Chip problems properly.   The law must be passed that all directors are personally liable for all deeds of their listed company's transaction and can be sued as a person in relation to their companies and not just the company being sued as a legal entity that they enjoy.   Company laws must be change for list companies (public companies, especially the listed ones). In addition, the accountants and auditors (whistler blowers) must both have certain liabilities over the affairs of the companies they are accounting or auditing because they are paid to do the job. So before and after listing, they should be accountable like the architects who are accountable for the collapse of a building due to structural faults found in later years.   If there are such a protective framework in place, I think the market place will be a safer one.

As long as you do not slander anybody and express

your personal view points should be safe , e.g. why

I think this S-cheat stock is no good blah blah blah.

Laulan      ( Date: 13-Jun-2011 09:30) Posted:

Just because there are a number of S-Chip cheats it does not mean that one should shun China companies.   There are hundreds of good ones, and these are really solid companies although in recent years many of them are undervalued owing to two factors. One is the dragged by really swindlers entering the corporate world via China listings, and the other has been the constant bad rumouring done by anti-Chinese elements who want to bring down the Chinese economy.   Really, there are many in the US envious of Chinese growth.   Some anti-Chinese westerners are colluding with rebel Tibetans to do damage to their own country.

Whatever it is, when posting insidious remarks we should know we can be traced via our IP Address that our computer is assigned with to connect to the internet.   So don't anyhow say things that can disparage the reputation directly of one person or another.   This can create a liability to be sued.
