Short must have holding power is not enough. Also need strong heart and stubbornness to swallow losses.
Shorting exercise: 28.09.2011 Capitaland Short 40 lots at 2.50. Till today must be 5 digit losses and calculator breakdown le. Still chanting STI 2400, lol.
Conclusion: Not possible to Short and Hold just as it is not possible to Long and Hold indefinitely. Have to be nimble to Buy and Sell with respect to TA, FA, Foresight, News and Sentiments, etc.

If short all the way to STI 2400, how much will be the finance charge $ based on average 3% Finance Charge for Capital of $10,000 for counter at 10% margin. Estimate will arrive at STI 2400 in one month-30days. Finance charge is based on calender days, isnt it?
Eg. Capitaland at $2.50 to sink to 2.00? How will the calculation be like? Profit estimate > 20,000? This means 100% profit on Capital of $10,000. No wonder so shiok to short.
But if Short from $3.00 in July until latest $2.50 (about 3 months), how much will be the Finance Charge and Profit?
