read between the lines sista..

why did the fresh grad get burnt?

1) he didn't have enuff financial education and wanted to try his luck on someguy who's called MASTER or GURU or STOCK GOD..or master of the universe who advocated a buy cos they thought it was worth going into w/o taking into consideration that the markets can move in any direction at the helm of the smart $$/professionals

2) he was downright greedy and overleveraged and burnt his backside..

so who's fault is it?

right on ! thank you ozone for helping me remind everyone. I'm glad you learnt your lesson. Everyone is free to state his/her opinion...afterall you're in a democratic nation called Singapore right ?

Just be responsible enough to say whether you are "vested" or not so that people know which angle you are coming from, that's all, instead of calling out to "buy ah!" , "short ah" without any basis. Now mind you, this is not a law, and you are free of course to continue making these calls if you want (afterall, rest assured, I am no cop and I have no right to arrest you !) However, if you have a conscience, then you know what to do.

Believe me, I know enough about finance to be able to make my own judgements, my concern is for the new members who may be professionals in their own fields but may not know enough to make the right judgements. I'm not out to witch-hunt (who says you're a witch ?! haha), but reading these previous posts I am just reminded of a fresh grad I know who got burnt (his 21 years of savings gone) by some comments he read somewhere on a discussion forum. He's a bright kid but still got a lotta learn about trading/ investments.

in my personal view based on buffetology and graham's intrinsic valuations... must quote later say i mislead..

this share is undervalued.. but due to property sectors getting bad press.. its gotta beaten down..

but i believe this share is worth $3

its main profit is from S'pore property trading..with the likes of reflections and the marina bay condo 2 strategically placed locations (read IR) i think it will benefit tremendously from these..

Yes, I agree. Those people who shout out in glee when they make a profit are really boastful (just that no-one here dare to tell them) . Either their family did not teach them manners or they just grew up ignoring what their teachers taught them, and brag for all to see.  On another note, the purpose of my initial post is to let others be aware that there are a number of so called "Master" "veteran" who make calls for this or that which are incomplete... just be careful especially when there are no justifications for their calls.

exchange23      ( Date: 18-Feb-2009 09:26) Posted:

I too can't stand people who keeps shouting 'BUY' with no good reasons/explanation. Even if you made a profit, why bother to make a post? Some people here are just too free. MayaGregio just ignore the posts made here.

this is a warning to tell u the smart money is getting out..

so its ur decision to get out or get sucker punched by the professionals who are ruthless in the market..

retailers are just the pawns..

anyway did u follow the whole post from the start?..i already mentioned i got in low @ 1.3+

i'm still in it..cos i know as long as this doesn't break the low of 1.28..this share will reap returns..

obviously ya in it for the short term..call urself greedy!

but those in it for the long term..don't worry abt it..fluctuations are part n parcel of the market

we're talkin abt keppel land ..not kampung land..govt company lei!

Pls answer the following qns..:

1) are u looking at a quick buck or long term?

2) who's responsible for your money? Me or you?

MayaGregio      ( Date: 18-Feb-2009 08:12) Posted:

This post below was made when the share price was 1.46 - with the price dropping within hours after that comment was made (now it has dropped to 1.36) , I think the comment was made irresponsibly and without care.

Regardless of the cliche "Caveat emptor" disclaimer which some pple use here, a commentor with a "Master" ranking  like the one below (or for that matter, any other commentator) should be more considerate of  impressionable new members here who may not be able to hold out until the price recovers.  One may be vested and hope to get more people here to buy to help boost the share price of the stocks they own but please don't do it at others' expense.

smart money always know things before the retailers do..

Singapore's ST Engineering FY net pft falls 6 pct

SINGAPORE, Feb 17 (Reuters) - Singapore Technologies Engineering (STEG.SI), the world's largest aircraft repair firm, posted a six percent decline in full year net profit, hurt by lower contributions from its aerospace arm.

The company, which is 49 percent owned by state investment firm Temasek Holdings [TEM.UL] and also Singapore's main weapons maker, said full year net profit slipped to S$473.6 million, compared to S$503.5 million a year ago.

Its order book stood at S$10.6 billion at the end of December, up from S$9.54 billion at the end of September.

ST Engineering did not disclose separate earnings for the fourth quarter, which would have been S$102.2 million based on the difference between the firm's nine-month and full-year earnings. (Reporting Harry Suhartono, editing by Kevin Lim)
