If you are paying your DBSV by keying in at DBS iBank then you are NOT really using the link. When you use the link, you must PAY UPFRONT. using another new account DBS iBANK generate for you.

When you want to use the link, you need the following procedures

1. Login DBS iBANK

2. Click Trading Services "NEW"

3. Click DBS Vickers Online Trading Services

3. MUST choose by clicking  ' your account number-CASH UPFRONT''

4. then place your buy or sell order ...

hope it helps

Ask you broker to UP your limit lor.. Another thing to do is to PAY early then you can have higher limit.

If you are using DBSV, yet another way is to LINK to DBS  iBanking to DBSvicker online and place trade there. this one is like etrade, put money first, then trade. like that your limit is no longer holding you up because you PAID first. When you are very sure of holding long term, this method works. However if you want to play contra then T+3 works.

ic.. some people can handle multiple accounts with multiple brokers without mixing up. mixing up is dangerous only when you want to SELL.

BTW, remember CASH account ( where CDP hold your shares) and CPF investment ( hold in CPF, deal through Agent Bank) are considered totally separate account so when you SELL you must be very sure which account hold the shares. Mixing up these two can lend you on naked short also. Be very careful before final click..

ic, u bought yesterday T, you are supposed to pay before T+3 this friday. Why you want to pay now if you have upto Friday?

However you want to take profit , you can SELL contra before you pay up. BUT remember CONTRA on SAME broker ONLY.

I bought DBS yesterday late afternoon from Brokerage A , oh.. So I need to pay now , then will reflect on my CDP ? But it would not be reflected immediately right ?

When exactly you bought from A? If not in CDP then you cannot SELL. It is considered naked short.

BTW you can contra ONLY USING SAME broker.

Hi All , sorry for asking a noob question.

If I bought a stock from brokerage A , today I want to sell it using Brokerage B. Do I need to do anything or  inform anyone before selling ? I checked my CDP account, this stock not reflected in my account yet. Dun 1 2 b accused of shorting. Thanks !

You should be able to make payment now. The DBS/POSB had all the existing rights issue in the ATM such as Jasper Invetment R, Serial R, WBL Rights, Kepland R.

Please ensure you select the correct manual, i dont use OCBC and UOB, but in POSB the correct manual to go in for rights payment is 'ERA-IPO/Investment".

it is Not the EPS ( electronic payment for shares) as you normal pay you share purchase if you use ATM.

I read from sgx website that this rights issue has last day of acceptance on 30April.

Since you did not make PAYMENT before April 30, then it is as good as you have rejected the rights ( or you have ignored this rights).

In time to come your 666 R share will disappear, they are worthless as of 1 May even thought it is in the CDP account report.

You can see two warrants are already listed in the SGX, they are Transpac Industrial W1000511 and Transpac Industrial W120511.

Thank Alligator,

Does it really means that if i ignore the rights issue, once the time up,the 666 shares holdings shown in my cdp account will disappear? And regarding the deep discounts, transpac ofter it at $1 per share  which is more higher then market price. It confused me at this part.

Please advice.

Rule T+3, YES

Just a little clarification, based on my experience only.

1. Your question is BUY.  for BUY , at least i know my broker give me 1.5day allowance to pay up before force sell. They will call to ask you PAY first. If you want to sell you can tell your broker to do for you at a nominal fee.  Sometime we forget, delay, or even on last minute  we have urgent overseas trip and could not do the fund transfer in time . This situation that requires our broker help in closing the unsettled deal.

I suggest you Call your broker to check so that you are 100% sure. Dont take my experience as a sure thing. Each broker is different in handling rules.

2. if it is a SELL order , it is strictly T+3 settlement. Broker cannot help!

The logic is , the broker do not know the seller's CDP account ( or CPF account via agent bank). So this SELL report become available only after CDP run report and send to Broker next day. If the seller did a NAKED SHORT, then the  SGX / CDP procedure will be T+4 BUY-IN plus fine.

No lah,  there is allowance as this system is run by human not by computer.  This T+3 is between you and your broker. If you are having good track record on payment with your purchases, he can give you allowance, but at his own risk.

Their system will flag out your 'outstanding, or unsettled contract' and your broker or some associate will call you on Friday to chase for payment  because the unsettled amount becomes his risk of bad debt...He will also ask you to provide proof of payment ( if you paid a little late, says 9.30pm Thursday) , such as bank transaction record for them via fax/email etc. If you settle it on Friday they normally will not bother since they have so many transactions in one day to clear.

Sometime we read other people T+5 and get more confuse. Actually big timers sure get T+5 from some brokers, especially when they have good record of payment.

You buy on Monday, that is T, assuming no holiday in between, then T+3 is Thursday, Your broker expect you to pay before their cut off time ( say 9pm) on Thursday.
