i agree totally!!!The reason they think it is too ex is because GS has not totally open for business!!Casino will ALWAYS make money.. GENTING will be making money at an alarming rate for at least the first three years. Its new people from asia will fly in to see and play.of course their universal studio will make for a few years and most likely when interest wane people will stop going. but it will be interesting for at least five years too.

I think it is too simplistic to just look at a company's loss amount and conclude it is not a buy.  The onus is on each investor to do his/her homework to look into assets, purchases, expenditure eg, construction, labour, revenue (is it increasing each year and don't forget projected one like new casino opening), etc.  What are the main causes for its reported loss for that financial period?   Will it continue bleeding this year?  Let's say Mr Adelson is overly optimistic to project a $1B profit/annum for his MBS investment, how much then would you estimate that GS can make/lose for this year alone?  Don't you think it is anybody's guess?  But it is rather strange that only before its licence issue that you are now seeing more FA issuing low price valuations for GS.  Are they trying to encourage everyone to dump their shares?  If so, why now?  I believe that GS approx $6.5B investment will look like a steal within 5 years of operation.  But that's just my guess.

25,000 shares consist of:                                                                                                        Original 15,000 available for SALE and                                                                                    Rights 10,000 for LONG only.

BUY Rights if one intends to LONG the 10,000 RIGHTS with an option to TAKE PROFIT for the 15,000 Original.

belgeran      ( Date: 28-Jan-2010 10:40) Posted:

hmm... example on rights trading..

yummygd, you have 15000 actual shares and was entitled 3000 rights
suppose you purchase another 7000 rights from the market @ $0.08
after paying the 7000 * $0.08, you'll have 10000 entitled rights.
then subsequently, you'll need to pay 10000 * $0.075 to purchase the actual shares, which will result in you having 25000 actual shares.

as with what pharoah88 is saying, the rights is now priced below the actual shares, $0.08 - $0.085 (purchase from open market) + $0.075 (pay up for shares) = $0.155 - $0.160 (actual amount paid for shares), and mother share is trading at $0.16 - $0.165, giving a $0.005 discount.

However, do note that the rights turn into shares only in late feb. If you purchase the rights @ $0.08, and the shares.. supposedly shot up during the period of now to late feb, say to $0.18, you're unable to sell out as you do not own the shares yet (excluding short selling). Subsequently, the shares drop down to $0.15 during late feb, you'll have made a loss when the actual shares becomes available.

Hope that helps =)

Latest News, Genting's RWS is getting its casino license in February and casino will be in operation latest by March. That means income will start flowing in soon. To have sufficient cash flow for the casino operation thus Genting converted the bond into shares.

I think there is going to be another round of huge spike upwards in the share price soon if news proven to be true.

yeah the risk of china company is that it might be all fake den thats when its nothing but swayness

tanstg      ( Date: 27-Jan-2010 22:54) Posted:

Whatever it is, look at a bigger picture and be realistic on China market.
  • Corruption - Still everywhere - what does it implied - where does all the rescue fund flow to?
  • Law - Still weak - what does it implied - company can just close down anytime
  • Etc

So be very careful!

Analysts can only give forecasts. In fact, in the last 2009 rally, it's caught many analysts by surprise.
But with so my policy news in the air, local bourse may be in for a 'somewhat' challenging position.
Interest rates announcement by US is the upcoming hurdle.
End of the day, hold your positions, don't realise your loss and nothing is lost.
