I am not sure of this stock for we will see lots of spike in coming years!

Bloomberg news -

June 30 (Bloomberg) -- Food emergencies are likely to increase in coming decades because of climate change, according to Alexander Sarris, director for trade and markets at the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization.

“You can see very clearly a sharply growing trend in food emergencies,” Sarris said at the World Agri Invest Congress in London today. “The climate issue may actually start playing havoc with the market.”

Last year’s food crisis was caused by hoarding and export restrictions rather than a global shortage, he said. Rising food costs last year prompted unrest in countries from Mexico to Indonesia and spurred governments in China, India and Russia to raise export taxes on foodstuffs.

“There were plenty of supplies to go around but there was a lot of hoarding,” he said.

Concern about supply may cause price surges in coming decades. “We’re likely to see more spikes in the next 20 years,” Sarris said. “You have to make people more confident in the market. It’s the loss of confidence that creates spikes.”

Olam International Ltd: Equity placement to Temasek Holdings

Olam International Ltd's (Olam) has announced its proposal to place out

273.5m new shares to Temasek Holdings. The new shares have been priced

at S$1.60, representing a 17.4% discount to the weighted average price of

trades done on 29 May 09. We expect the placement to result in a dilution

of 16% for existing shareholders. Net proceeds from this placement, which

will amount to approximately S$437.0m, will be used mainly to finance

new capital expenditure and acquisitions for the group. According to Olam,

the participation by Temasek will enable the group to tap on more investment

opportunities for growth. We will be looking to adjust our numbers to account

for the dilution. For now, our both

are under review.
BUY rating and S$2.06 fair value estimate

I was reading bloomberg's news this afternoon -

AIG - AIG (bail out 4 times by the government) , will likely have left NO value to their private shareholders after repaying the US.

Is STI's surge due to the 2nd stimulus package by Obama?  DOW 'might' surge based on that sentiment?     People always anticipate first before the government's actual movement.  :)  If unemployment improves, then surge becomes reality.

hi jeremyow

Would you mind sharing which are those that are undervalued at present time? I am waiting to buy those blue chips that are grossly undervalued. Thanks.

To make good one's investments, investing is about all of the following:-

1. Right time to buy at undervalued prices,

2. Right excellent company invested,

3. Right time to sell only when there is no more incentive for holding the shares (e.g. future growth of the underlying business of the company is limited or business fundamentals have deteroriated permanently or there is a better investment than current one)

If one's holding power is forever and have done all the above smoothly, one can expect to see a good long term rate of yearly returns as the intrinsic value of one's shares grows together with the business on a non-return basis.

Richtan,

Glad that this free forum has someone like yourself.  I have never doubted your sincerity. 'The writing reflects the writer'.

Its too late for me to reverse my loss (china sport) though its not much (cut loss with 2 bits with only few lots).  You may laugh at my foolishness but, just dont know why, knowing this target price might not come true, but, still went ahead with the buy?  I cant explain too!  LOL .  The TA is still a must-have if continues to trade.

Thank you once again for taking your time to reply.

niuyear,

U are most welcome, trust me for my sincere sharing and advice as I speak out from my true heart as I was once a victim of tips and rumours (made huge losses n phobia na realise my folly n decided to learn the ropes of the trade), thus why strongly detest such despicable acts n , click on my nick and read my advices n my past history

There is no short-cut to trading.

I find it ironic why MAS bans these banks  ? This will not bring back the lost money.  Our government should be very careful with FUTURE investment products that coming from US especially those 'bad debts' that might be bundled into investment products and sell to the whole world.........

Have we heared anything from MAS about : how to prevent such mistake (sub-prime) from happening again and improvements to the present financial systems or a set up of 'watch dog' to guard against the future products?...'woof woof'  LOL

Trading based on tips and rumours is a dangerous game, playing with fire, u may be lucky this time but not everytime.

I m a strong advocator of doing your own research (FA and TA) and sharing by posting to exchange pointers, FA being the 1st essential step followed by TA to time the entry, whether or not to enter the trade, but of course TA is not infallible, thus the need to set stop-loss, rathet than relying on tips n rumours

So far, most useful 'tip' Newtothis has mentioned in one of his message that , 'Goldn Agr's BBs going to exit this stock' which  has stopped me from buying when this stock hit 0.36 or something like that.  I was lucky that i didnt buy this stock.

For this, i think i must thank him for the timely info, though, at the point in time, i didnt know what game is going but, i did follow that message and saved me from loosing money.  :)

p/s - i do not know him in person, the above is just my fair statement.  Tks

Dow fell heavily last night and this will have some effect on the market today.

However, beware of the "over-reaction" effect that always occurs in the morning from retail investors. It is better to wait till late morning or afternoon to make any trading decision.

AK's info comes in timely, i was looking for this news when i heard over the news ...

Why Citi group is not  in the list?  They are still selling Merrill lynch products which was on verge of bankcruptcy and causing Bank of America to take over and now ended up its chairman Lewis kenna probbed by Fed......  Bank of America must have regretted to agree to take over in the first place..

Am glad that Obama has implemented taxation on fuel used by facotry instead of taxing on production. I think if less fuel used, less tax to pay, demand of oil will drop............it should contain the oil price and hope it goes below $50 per barrel  so our power supply bill will be reducedd.

Huh! 1 person selling to / buying from his own various accounts!  Scary leh...

Af ter seeing this post, i am more cautious to buy penny stocks.  Also i believe those penny stocks i lost money must be also manipulation by this type of BBs.

But why the brokerage house still recommended a 'trading buy' ? Wouldnt they know that this has been a BBs manipulation?

You will see GoldenAgr to $0.20+, this burger will never never never cross $0.40 again. At least not this week. (100% gurantee)

There are only 2 scenario for tomorrow.

1) No action.

2) Selling Down - Everyone have to go in with them to sell down this burger down.

This burger is control by Funds. You will not make $$$ out of it. Dump this share. Not for beginner. Buy & Sell exchanging between its own various accounts.

It has sold off  300,000 lots these few days. Cut your losses now dump everything and exit this burger.
