Go to POSB website and find out about ETF they recently launched.   I suppose this is a safer bet than putting your money in stock market at this moment for people are 'guessing' the direction of market and dont know if DOW would  hit 10,375 or Gold could hit 1500?  All these are just 'guessing' and no one knows, only the insiders know...

Hi, below clippings for your reading -

AT&T to Be Provider Of 'Cloud Computing'

more in Tech »

AT&T Inc. is unveiling a service that provides computer networking and storage services for business customers, making the telecommunications giant the latest company to invest in what is known as "cloud computing."

Cloud computing has become a crowded field in a short period of time, as technology companies such as Google Inc., International Business Machines Corp. and Amazon.com Inc. have announced initiatives. Verizon Communications Inc. said it plans to enter the market in the first half of 2009.

Cloud computing's appeal is that it can eliminate a company's need for its own data center. It also lets businesses pay for bandwidth on an on-demand basis.

One of AT&T's first customers is the U.S. Olympic Committee. The organization, which runs teamusa.org and other Olympics Web sites, knows traffic will leap this month as fans watch videos and look up event results and then drop sharply as soon as the games are over. It plans to use the AT&T service to increase its network bandwidth temporarily.

Jim Paterson, a vice president of product development at AT&T, said another type of business that could benefit from cloud computing would be an e-commerce retailer that sees a spike in activity on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Mr. Paterson said companies can cut networking and storage costs by as much as 30% with a cloud-based service.

Cloud computing carries risks. Amazon's storage service had an interruption last month, its second outage this year, disabling businesses that relied on it for their operations, and some companies may shy away from using a data center that they don't have physical access to in case of emergency.

Businesses are increasingly concerned with "elasticity" in their technology infrastructure, said Daryl Plummer, a cloud-computing analyst at Gartner Inc. Anticipating those needs isn't easy, he added, and both under- and overestimating them can cause problems ranging from crashes to being stuck with unnecessarily high hosting costs.

"A business has unknown capacity requirements, or maybe believes they know what the capacity requirements are, but is going to be surprised by something," he said. "Worse yet, after they respond to the enhanced need, they scale up to support it, and then it goes away."

Cloud-computing is up and coming and only the best telco company will be a winner,  if it could provide a total integrated solution and varrious level of security and the reliability and availability of the services to the public.

starhub is one of the best stocks to buy from the recent sell down....gives very good dividend which is substainable or more or less over many years....though the loss of EPL right may affect the revenue, the involvement in the next generation broadband network initiative by the government is a cash cow for many years beside the mobile phone license...at $1.80 plus and dividend $0.18 per year, you can easily achieve what warren buffet can achieve for the next 5 years (average 10% growth)...good luck

NB: This counter is one of the best stock to do averaging when it is in downtrend

I never know that these 'Money Maker of the market'  fearful and dislike on-line traders......LOL.

All it takes is just get couple of hundred of 'paid'  on-line traders disturb the strategy...

    chartist2009      ( Date: 21-Oct-2009 22:52) Posted:

    for my concerns:-

    1. can not trade thru online, means we need broker to buy and sell to pay higher comm?

    2. normally "market makers" don't like online trader, because they don't know what is the next step online trader will take to interfere their strategy, especially for penny stock. there will be more online traders playing it. after ban this online trading on penny stock, "market maker" will be more easy to control and earn money from public?

    3. how they judge what price range treat as "penny stock"? today they can put 3 or 4 stocks under their banning list. tomorrow will they adding 10 to 20 stocks under their list?

    4. normally market will become "chaos", buy up or sell down with large amount of share is done by "market maker" not trader. after this policy, when ppl like u and me saw there have institute throws million unit shares, we need to call and inform broker and waiting broker alloting ur share into queue...at that time, think the price is lower then ur selling price..

all above situations just my personal view and thinking, i am just feel uneasy to that "move". at this moment, not affect me yet, in future...dont know...
